Today, the US bishops will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of our country!

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
living and quickening source of eternal life,
infinite treasure of the Divinity,
and burning furnace of divine love,
You are my refuge and my sanctuary.
O my amiable Savior,
consume my heart with that burning fire
with which Your Heart is ever inflamed;
pour down on my soul those graces
which flow from Your love;
and let my heart be so united with Yours
that our wills may be one,
and that mine may be
entirely conformed to Yours.
May Your divine will be equally the standard
and rule of all my desires and of all my actions.
Amen.

Join us for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi! This Sunday, June 7, come to Mass and stay for a Eucharistic procession afterwards! Attend the English 11:00 AM or Spanish 3:00 PM Mass and join us as we carry Christ in the Eucharist around the Cathedral campus in procession. As pilgrims, we walk behind the Lord, following Christ who goes before us and leads us on the path to eternal life.

Today, we celebrate the feast day of Pope St. Paul VI.

Elected to succeed Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI presided over the last three sessions of the Second Vatican Council. His pontificate would ultimately prove consequential in guiding the Church forward in the post-conciliar era.

His most consequential encyclical, Humanae Vitae, meaningfully upholds the Church’s teaching on human sexuality and the dignity of marriage and family life. Another of his encyclicals, Evangelii Nutiandi, would lay the ground work for what we know today as the New Evangelization, which became central to the magisterium of Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Francis, & Leo XIV.

May Pope St. Paul VI continue to intercede for the Church in her mission to proclaim Christ anew in the world today!
