Wednesday Replay: A Blood Issue

Hebrews 11:6 KJV - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Mr. Davis brought us the woman from Mark 5:21-34 this week. She had an issue of the blood that caused her both physical and emotional distress. Not only was she having to deal with all the symptoms of loosing blood with no rest and the pains that came with it, but she was labeled as unclean and forced to live under strict rules that deprived her of the comforts of a normal life. So naturally she did everything in her own power to find healing! Anything the doctors asked, any amount of money; it all seemed worth it - but nothing helped. She suffered at their hands and they made her worse.

When she saw Jesus walking down the street that day I have no doubt she was at the end of her rope. She was done doing things her own way, man couldn't help her, only HE was left, only HE held the answer to her problem. If only she could touch him, even just his hem would be close enough...

We are more like this woman than we realize. What are you trying to fix? What are you trying to prove? What do you need to accomplish so desperately in your life?
When you get to the heart of that answer, when you are ready to surrender and put your faith in Jesus he WILL be there.

We cannot prove our worth, we cannot buy His grace, we cannot heal our broken bodies into a state of perfection. Only by having enough faith to reach out for that hem, by declaring Jesus as Lord can we be made whole.

It's so easy to look for the answer to our problems down here among man, it's all right in front of our face after all. But only Jesus can fill in those holes and heal us where it truly counts. Gonna be singing this song all week!
