As a Pastor, I see some Christians and think to myself they’re going to heaven, but they look like hell right now.
They are like the sweet and sour candy: you know the one that is sweet at first and the more you lick it, it starts to get sour.
And you ask, where’s the joy of the Lord? Where’s the abundant life that Jesus promised? satan and the world would have us believe that Jesus isn’t enough, that He isn’t sufficient. That if you want abundant, then you need more than Jesus.
Remember the verse that says the devil is a liar….that he is the father of lies and there is no truth in him.
If you are reaching the part of the candy where your Christian life seems to be souring and you’re believing that Jesus is not sufficient, not enough and asking where’s the more abundant; then you’re falling prey to the lie!!

Happy July 4th weekend!! July 4th is a day that we celebrate our freedom as a nation and a people. July 4th is about so much more than hotdogs, cook outs, swimming and fireworks. July 4th is about freedom, about a country founded, rooted and established on Christian principles.
Today is SONday (Sunday) its about so much more than just a day off, a day of rest and relaxation. It is about worship and praise, about celebrating our freedom from the tyranny of sin. Its about the ONE who gave us that freedom, who paid the ultimate sacrifice that we could have the right to that freedom. The greatest freedom that anyone can have is freedom in Jesus!! This July 4th…America will be 249 years old and will be celebrated in towns and cities throughout this country to remind us of the sacrifices, character, ideas, and faith, which have gone into the making of our national history. Those of us of Christian belief look back even further to such events in Biblical history when the Lord spoke through Moses and said, "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof..." Its time for us to remember the price paid for what we enjoy. Freedom was not and is not free. Someone paid the price and sacrificed for our liberty and even today someone is still sacrificing and paying. Someone even greater paid for our salvation, our freedom from sin and hell. That someone was Jesus. Do you celebrate Him?

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This is not just idle words spoken thousands of years ago, but they are relevant to the church; you and me today. Here were a people in bo***ge for 400 years, separated from GOD. Just like them some of us never grow because we’re not willing to let Him stretch us, and challenge us, and test us. Are you ready??? Happy Father’s Day!! More importantly, Happy Dad’s day!! The word dad has more meaning to me because any male can be a father but to me dad means having an intimate relationship, a special bond and friendship with your children. It's not just when they are young, it continues through out life. Being a Dad to your children is so important, but what makes it more important is being a GODly Dad. A Christian dad who lives for and loves like Christ and its shows in all the ways that he raises his children. Are you that Dad? If not you can be. Accept, believe and trust in Jesus and the greatest Dad of all, GOD will show you how.

Have you looked in the mirror today. We look into the mirror first thing in the morning and it doesn’t spare our feelings. It doesn’t gloss over our defects and tell us we’re better looking than we really are. Have you noticed that the closer you get to the mirror, the more it reveals what you really look like. It shows us what needs to be fixed to make ourselves presentable to others.
Like a mirror; GOD's Word speaks to us plainly, it doesn’t beat around the bush. It tells us where we have gone wrong and what needs to be fixed to make ourselves presentable to GOD.

I’ve heard Christians say that GOD doesn’t speak to them. My thought is are they really listening. GOD speaks to us in so many ways, if we will just take time to listen!!! Yes……they may be talking to GOD throughout the day, but there is no quiet time when they stop and listen to Him. They don’t sit with the Word of GOD and let it speak to them. That is GOD speaking!
Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. GOD breathed….that’s GOD speaking!!!
Are you truly listening to hear Him speak to you!!

The Word of GOD is the Word of life. In its pages we meet Jesus. Remember Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
In Scripture we meet Jesus. And, in meeting and believing upon Jesus, we gain life. Real Life.....Life eternal!!!

Tomorrow/Monday 5-26 is Memorial Day.....Take time to remember the ones who gave their lives for our freedom. And especially take time to remember the ONE who gave His life to set us free!!

What picture does Jesus give us as we look at His life? As we listen to His words?
Jesus loved the unlovable. He forgave the unforgivable. He reached out to the untouchable. How do you picture Jesus in your life?
How do you picture in your heart all that Jesus has done for you?
Can you even begin to comprehend His love for you? We are to emulate Jesus. We are to emulate the one we call Savior the one we call the Lord of our lives. We are called to be conformed into his image. If a picture was taken of you and Jesus together, would you look anything alike?

Happy Mother's Day! Thank you mom for all your love and sacrifices for your children!
It is said that a mother holds her children's hand only for a short time but she holds their hearts forever.
Being a Mom brings so much joy and sometimes much patience. Being a Mom is a great gift and along with it comes a great responsibility. What you do matters. Your love, your strength, your sacrifices, they shape your child who may help shape the world!
Mom, you have the opportunity to hand down your faith about GOD to your children before the world does the opposite.
It is said that "Mothers write on the hearts of their children what the rough hand of the world cannot erase.”
