“He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: Keep my commandments, and live.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭

There will be times when it seems that the best course of action will be to compromise your core beliets. Perhaps you re tempted to bend your standards of integrity for a business deal or seek counsel from an ungodly source to achieve success in a certain area. But this is never a good idea. Satan's deadliest attacks are usually very subtle

Take King Solomon, for example. The Lord warned Solomon against alliances with Egypt; but because Egypt had the best horses, Solomon ignored God's command. It was a small area of compromise—what could it hurt? But eventually, Solomon agreed to a treaty with Egypt that involved marrying Pharaoh's daughter. That opened the door to him taking more pagan wives.

The result was terrible. "When Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholy devoted to the LoRD" (1 Kings 11:4). Consequently, the nation of Israel became weaker until it was ultimately torn asunder.

Even the smallest compromises can lead to devastating consequences. Don't fall for the trap. Listen to God, hold tight to His commands, and trust Him to provide better for you.

🙏🏻 Jesus, Your ways are best. I will obey all You've taught me. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because His instruction is trustworthy.

“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:” Matthew‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭

We all long to be happy people-comfortably situated in fulfilling lives. And there are thousands of products that promise to help us achieve that. However, the emphasis on most self-help items is on what we're supposed to do, own, or think. Although they make inspiring claims, and even make us happy short-term, they never produce the genuine, long-lasting peace and contentment we truly desire.

This is because these aren't feelings you can generate on your own or through earthly means-they are solely the work of the Holy Spirit within you. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are all His fruit—manifestations of His renewing work in your life (Galatians 5:22-23). This is what is born in you when you repent-when you agree with God and walk in His ways.

From the moment you accepted Jesus as your Savior, the Holy Spirit has been working to transform you into Christ's likeness and free you from the bo***ge to sin. That's how you become the joy-ful, peaceful, loving person you desire to become-you yield to His activity. So don't fight Him. Obey how He prompts you and enjoy the harvest He brings forth from your life.

🙏🏻 Jesus, bear good fruit in me! I yield to Your wonderful transforming work. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because His fruit is always good.

“and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John‬ ‭10‬:‭28‬ ‭

What's the first thing you usually think about when you face a trial? Is it how you feel about it or what you could lose? Do you realize the difference it could make if your first thought was about God? If you asked, "Lord, what are You up to? What do You want me to learn from this?"

Friend, nothing touches your life without Him first allowing it. Think of the assurance Jesus gave you in today's verse. You rest in the palm of His hand. Yes, this speaks to your eternal security when He's your Savior. But it also speaks to your life as a whole-you are safely protected within His mighty hand. So anything that comes to you must first make it past Him. And since nothing in all creation can move even God's finger, anything He permits must ultimately be for His greater purposes (Romans 8:28-29).

So when you experience circumstances that you don't under-stand, watch for what the Lord is trying to teach you about Himself. And trust His mighty hand to guide and guard you regardles: of
what happens.

🙏🏻 Jesus, thank You for holding my life in Your hand. I know that I can survive anything with You. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because His grip is eternal.

“And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.” Judges‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ ‭

Are you facing a battle where you can't help yourself—you just don't have the resources or strength to fight what's coming against you? God wants you to realize how completely you can depend on Him. He is not just the Savior of your soul, but your Defender and Deliverer in every moment of your life, and you are always safe relying upon Him.

This was certainly the case for Gideon. The Lord called Gideon to stand against the immense invading armies of the Midianites.
However, being from the smallest tribe, Gideon felt ill-equipped to face them. So God lovingly assured him: "I will be with you" (Judges 6:16). Ultimately, He delivered Israel in a miraculous manner that Gideon could never have foreseen or engineered on his own.

The same is true for your battles today. It could be that not only is the challenge too big for you, but you've been cut off from the resources you're accustomed to relying upon. You're more limited, weak, and powerless now than ever. Stand by. Your omnipotent God is orchestrating your deliverance in a manner you could never have imagined so you can see the mighty workings of His power on your behalf. Count on it.

🙏🏻 Jesus, this battle belongs to You. I will trust Your deliverance. Thank You for helping me. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because He is my Defender.

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: But the LORD pondereth the hearts.” Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭2‬ ‭

Take a moment and consider what thoughts and emotions are flowing from you. Are you fearful, angry, or miserable? Do unkind or even profane words, complaints, doubts, or curses rise up in your heart? Are there unclean, impure machinations?

You will learn a lot when you listen to yourselt. The arguments and feelings that surface reveal who you really are and what's going on in you. Certainly, you may believe you're doing well—that you're honoring the
Lord and living a holy life. But there's no evidence that can condemn you like that which comes from your own heart (Proverbs 30:12; Matthew 15:18-19).

Friend, whatever God surfaces—don't deny it. He is revealing it to you for a reason. Ask Him to reveal the source of your thoughts and emotions and what you need to do in response to what He shows you. Then obey Him fully. Remember: His goal is to liberate you from your bo***ge to sin and heal the wounds within you (Romans 7:24-25).
So don't be afraid. Rather, trust that your Savior continues on His mission to conform you to His image and fit you for everlasting life.

🙏🏻 Lord, I repent. Help me to break free from this bo***ge and live a life worthy of You. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because He truly heals my heart.

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭

Are you reticent to trust God because of how others have let you down? If so, then understand that the Savior's love for you is not like most human love-moody, unpredictable, self-serving, and dependent upon your response. Rather, God's love for you is based on His holy character—which is sacrificial, unchanging, completely trustworthy, and committed to providing the very best for you.

Today's verse explains that love is His very nature. What this means is that He cannot cease to care for you, because to do so He would have to stop being Himself. Likewise, your Savior won't love you more when you're obedient or less when you're sinful, because His affection is based on His steadfast disposition-not on your worthiness.

This is why you can always count on Jesus to help you. He is loving, good, and faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). You never have to worry about Him saying one thing and doing another, or acting in a way toward you that is harmful or cruel. Instead, you can rely on the loving assurances He's given you in His Word every day of your life.

🙏🏻 Jesus, thank You for loving me profoundly, unconditionally, and faithfully. Help me to live in a manner worthy of Your love for me. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because I can count on His unfailing love.

“Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.” Esther‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭

You don't know what God is doing behind the scenes or how He is orchestrating important details on your behalf.

Take Mordecai for example. He was hated by an evil man named Haman, who was second in command to King Ahasuerus of Persia. Haman was determined to execute Mordecai and even built gallows for that purpose. However, the night before Haman planned to ask the king if he could kill Mordecai, Ahasuerus couldn't sleep. He asked to be brought his kingdom's chronicles, and, while reading, discovered that five years earlier, Mordecai had saved his life by exposing an assassination plot. What a moment for the king to realize Mordecai's service to him! Not only was Haman's plan foiled, but Mordecai was honored instead!

This is the perfect illustration of how God works on your behalf—in the unseen His all-powerful hand engineers what you need. So don't lose heart no matter how impossible your situation seems. Instead, focus on God, respect His leadership, and trust Him to provide for you in His perfect wisdom and time.

🙏🏻 Jesus, I know You can change my impossible situation in the twinkling of an eye. I will trust You and wait. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because He is working in the unseen.

“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭

Time is one of God's most effective tools for teaching you to rely on Him. This has been true throughout history-seen often in the lives of great saints such as David, who wrote the psalm above.

David was a teenager when the prophet Samuel anointed him to succeed Saul as king of Israel. Although this was a great honor, it was only the beginning of a long and difficult wait—one filled with devastating losses and uncertainties. At one point, David was forced to flee from Israel altogether, making the fulfillment of his dreams seem impossible. But David trusted the Lord to do as He said, and because he did, David eventually took the throne. And through it all, the Lord molded David's character-fitting him to be a godly king of Israel.

You can be certain the same is true for you. In your waiting, the Father is preparing you for His awesome purposes. So today, no matter the disappointments, delays, or seeming impossibili-ties, take the advice from a man who knows: Wait for the Lord; be strong and be encouraged. Yes, wait for the Lord.

🙏🏻 Jesus, I will wait for You. Prepare me to do Your will, my Savior. Amen. 🙏🏻

My hope is in Jesus because He always keeps His promises.
