St. Peter's has been serving Salisbury since 1768 when it served as a chapel of ease for Green Hill Church in Stepney Parish. The original church burned in the first Salisbury Fire in 1860. In 1886, the re-built church burned again in the Great Salisbury Fire. The present church held its first service Christmas Day 1887 and was fully consecrated

once construction was finished in 1901. Peter's is the parent church of St. Alban's founded in 1960 also in Salisbury, MD.

🎶 Special Music Sunday — August 30 🎶

We are delighted to welcome soprano Leah Yackanech as our guest cantor on Sunday, August 30, at both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services!

Leah is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and is currently continuing her studies at the Peabody Conservatory. She has performed with distinguished music programs and has shared her gifts in Episcopal church communities throughout Ohio.

She will sing two beautiful Bach arias:
✨ Ich folge dir gleichfalls (“I will follow you likewise”)
✨ Bist du bei mir (“If you are with me”)

These beautiful works reflect the themes of the day’s readings and invite us into deeper reflection through music.

Leah will be accompanied by our Director of Music, Lauma Akmene.
Join us for worship, singing, and a beautiful morning of sacred music. Bring your friends! 🎶

We are excited to begin forming a new Music Support Group at St. Peter’s! ✨
We’re looking for parishioners and friends who would like to share ideas, dream together, and help build our music ministry. ❤️
There are so many possibilities ahead — adult and children’s choirs, handbells 🔔, instrumentalists 🎻🎺, congregational singing 🎶, special services, concerts, and new ways to make music an even more vibrant part of our parish life.
And you do not need to be a musician to participate! We are looking for people who care about St. Peter’s, love music, have ideas, and would enjoy helping shape what comes next. 🌿
