Below is his obituary.
Paul Kirkpatrick: A Life of Faith and Love

Paul Kirkpatrick, 68, of Salisbury, a man whose life was a beautiful testament to enduring faith and devotion, was called home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, passing away at Lexington Health Care Center in Lexington, NC.

Born on March 28, 1958, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to the late Johnnie Edward and Clara Koon Kirkpatrick, Paul’s roots instilled in him a profound sense of purpose. He answered that calling as a minister, faithfully and passionately preaching the Gospel for over 42 years. Most recently, he was the beloved minister of the West Innes Street Church of Christ.

Paul’s deep love for Scripture extended far beyond the pulpit. A lifelong student and a gifted educator, he founded and directed the North Carolina School of Biblical Studies from 2006 to 2014. His dedication to sharing his knowledge was vast: he served as an original board member of the Carolina Messenger, taught at the Central Carolina School of Preaching, and directed the Annual Carolina Lectureship during his time at Windsor Lake Church of Christ in Columbia, SC. As a graduate of the East Tennessee School of Preaching, he held a Bachelor of Biblical Studies and a Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible from the Theological University of America. He also shared his passion as an instructor in the Fishers of Men Evangelism program and taught the complexities of the New Testament Greek language.

Beyond his ministry and academic achievements, Paul’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind a legacy of immense love to be cherished by his devoted wife of 47 years, Carla Marshall Kirkpatrick. His memory will live on through his daughters, Myca Lynn Beller (Jamie) of Seminole, OK, and Jennifer Sitton (Lucas) of Belton, MO; his son, Joshua Kirkpatrick (Alex) of Burlington; and his sister, Lora Deems (Larry) of Florida. He will also be deeply missed by his grandbabies: Raegan, Parker, and Riley who will forever hold close the memory of their loving Peepaw. Also left to cherish his memory is his beloved dog, Scooby, who brought him endless comfort and companionship.

A Celebration of Life to honor Paul’s journey and legacy will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the West Innes Street Church of Christ in Salisbury, NC.

Summersett Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kirkpatrick family during this time.
