“Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” -Matthew 25:40

Many of our community partners, including IHN at Alpha House, were involved in the recently premiered documentary, "The Road Home". This documentary addresses the critical issues of mental health, housing insecurity, and homelessness in Washtenaw County, exploring both the underlying challenges and potential solutions through a unified community effort.

On May 7th at 6:00 PM, there will be a showing at the Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater. The showing is free and open to the public! Reserve your tickets at marquee-arts.org. Whether this is an issue you are already involved in or you are hoping to learn more, we encourage all to come together to combat homelessness and housing insecurity in our community.

"The Road Home" is set to premiere at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater, with two free screenings scheduled.

The Saline Ward (one of the congregations in our Stake) hosted an interfaith music concert the Sunday after Easter to celebrate the Savior and rejoice in His resurrection! They worked with some other wonderful Saline congregations, the St Paul UCC Saline, MI and the First Presbyterian Church of Saline. There was a bell choir, solo organ, solo french Horn, solo clarinet, and choir selections. All came together to perform Hosanna a selection from Rob Gardner's Lamb of God Oratorio which was also just performed at the NY Metropolitan Opera House with the BYU Choirs and Orchestra.

We rejoice in our Savior Jesus Christ and are so thankful to have so many friends to rejoice with!

Our community will experience on unprecedented homelessness crisis in the next year. How can people of faith lead the way in responding to this great need?

Our good friend Shonagh Taruza, the Executive Director of IHN at Alpha House, will be speaking at the Interfaith Round Table of Washtenaw County April Day Forum on Tuesday April 21 at 11:45 AM over Zoom about how we can all play our part in helping to mitigate this humanitarian crisis.

Our Stake has a close partnership with IHN, and we invite all to come support! You can register at http://bit.ly/4ceuWqr

“He is risen! He is risen!
Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three days’ prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered; man is free.
Christ has won the victory.”
— “He Is Risen!,” Hymns, no. 199

Happy Easter! Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is risen! We rejoice because He loves us, died for us, and lives for us!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to hear from a living prophet. The resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ, leads and guides us today.

Adrian College and the Ann Arbor Institute of Religion (sponsored by Seminaries and Institutes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) signed a memorandum of understanding on March 12 that allows certain religious education courses to transfer to Adrian College.

“As was recently taught by our prophet President Dallin H. Oaks at a BYU Provo devotional, we value learning both by the scientific method and by the spiritual method — using faith, scriptures, inspired teachings, and personal revelation. This partnership with Adrian College is symbolic of our joint belief in combining scientific and spiritual learning to help the rising generation succeed. I hope that other educational and religious institutions will see what is being done here as a model to follow.” - Elder Brent Ward, Area Seventy

This collaboration is exciting and encouraging as we seek to build bridges and embrace the diversity of belief in our community! A strong spiritual foundation is critically important to our society.

We stand with all people of faith who face violence because of their beliefs. Having experienced a similar attack in nearby Grand Blanc, Church members express their love, support, and deep concern for all who are affected by last week's act of violence at a synagogue in West Bloomfield. Houses of worship should be sanctuaries of peace, prayer, and community. We pray for healing, comfort, and peace for all who are suffering.

The following statement was released by the United States Northeast Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Last week we hosted members of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Washtenaw County for an evening of celebration and gratitude. This network of local faith groups and organizations have been supporting IHN at Alpha House for years (some decades!) in the shared mission of helping families experiencing homelessness. This special evening gave everyone the opportunity to brainstorm how we can better work together as well as share our individual service initiatives so we can support one another in our shared goal of faith centered and love filled service. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and made the night so energizing!
