- When: Saturday September 12 from 1:00-3:30 PM
- Where (there are two locations): 4290 Jackson Rd Ann Arbor and 5361 Mcauley Dr Ypsilanti
- What: volunteers will be cleaning living areas, mulching the playground, sorting donations, preparing rooms, and writing welcome notes.

Alpha House supports families in our community experiencing homelessness and we are excited to partner with them in this shared mission of serving God's children.

Shout out to the young men and leaders of the Ypsilanti Ward for their great work at Del's House (IHN at Alpha House) fixing bed frames! They fixed 11 beds, helping the shelter increase their capacity!

Last week, the young men and leaders in the Saline Ward rescued 526 lbs of food at Gatherers! Food Gatherers is the official food bank and food rescue program for Washtenaw County, MI. They distribute around 10 million pounds of food per year. Their warehouse processes and average of 9 tons of food a day...with volunteer help!

We are so excited to see this project underway! IHN at Alpha House does incredible work to support families experiencing housing insecurity. It is a victory for our whole community that this location will be able to continue running after these much needed repairs!

We are so incredibly grateful to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for literally putting a roof over our heads. The work on the shingles section is complete. We will now start work on the flat section and repair all the water damage. We absolutely could not do any of the work we do without the support of partners like the A2 Stake who advocate for us, serve tirelessly, and are abundantly generous with support for our cli and staff 💙

Last week, members of our Stake came together with members of other faiths in our community to play in the 35th annual Ypsilanti Church Softball League Tournament. There were 17 teams across 14 local churches and it was so fun to participate in this interfaith community pastime! Our Stake had two teams participating this summer and the A team won the tournament.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made it possible!

The youth of our Stake had a wonderful time serving at IHN at Alpha House as a part of their Stake Youth Conference! We are so thankful for our amazing partners and for the meaningful service opportunity our youth had!

A huge thank you to the amazing youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2026 Youth Conference (Ann Arbor Stake) who volunteered at both of Alpha House's shelters on the afternoon of June 26 as part of their conference service activities!

Their energy, kindness, and willingness to serve made such a meaningful impact. They assembled new bunk beds, cleaned throughout our shelters, pulled weeds to help beautify our grounds, spent time on the playground with our children, and even enjoyed arts and crafts together.

The smiles and laughter shared that afternoon were priceless. Our children—and their parents—were absolutely gleeful to spend time with such caring and enthusiastic volunteers. Your generosity of time and spirit helped create a day filled with joy while making our shelters an even more welcoming place for the families we serve.

Thank you for choosing Alpha House as part of your service project. Your compassion and hard work truly made a difference, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you! 💙

The watch party will be held Saturday June 27 at 7:00 PM at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater in downtown Detroit.

The Tabernacle Choir is performing at the Hollywood Bowl in celebration of their first performance there 100 years ago! Hundreds of watch parties are happening nationwide. Special guest performances include Donny Osmond, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Stephanie J. Block and Sebastian Arcelus.

Many of our community partners, including IHN at Alpha House, were involved in the recently premiered documentary, "The Road Home". This documentary addresses the critical issues of mental health, housing insecurity, and homelessness in Washtenaw County, exploring both the underlying challenges and potential solutions through a unified community effort.

On May 7th at 6:00 PM, there will be a showing at the Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater. The showing is free and open to the public! Reserve your tickets at marquee-arts.org. Whether this is an issue you are already involved in or you are hoping to learn more, we encourage all to come together to combat homelessness and housing insecurity in our community.

"The Road Home" is set to premiere at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater, with two free screenings scheduled.

The Saline Ward (one of the congregations in our Stake) hosted an interfaith music concert the Sunday after Easter to celebrate the Savior and rejoice in His resurrection! They worked with some other wonderful Saline congregations, the St Paul UCC Saline, MI and the First Presbyterian Church of Saline. There was a bell choir, solo organ, solo french Horn, solo clarinet, and choir selections. All came together to perform Hosanna a selection from Rob Gardner's Lamb of God Oratorio which was also just performed at the NY Metropolitan Opera House with the BYU Choirs and Orchestra.

We rejoice in our Savior Jesus Christ and are so thankful to have so many friends to rejoice with!
