As we journey through life, we gather a rich tapestry of experiences, memories and wisdom. For many of us, the path has been long, filled with seasons of joy, challenges, growth and perhaps even weariness. In Galatians 6:9-10 the Apostle Paul offers us a profound encouragement that resonates deeply with those who have walked many years with the Lord: So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

Is our faith merely and intellectual exercise, a mental agreement with theological truths? Or is it a dynamic, life-changing relationship that compels us to live differently. To love radically and to serve selflessly. True faith, the kind that saves and transforms is not passive. It is active. It is alive. It is a faith that not only believes in God but also trusts God and obeys God, resulting in a life that honors Him.

God uses you for His purposes. You, in your current circumstances with your unique gifts and even your limitations, are a seed in God’s field. When you are planted in Christ, watered by His spirit, and nurtured by His Word, your have the potential to grow and be a source of blessing and refuge for others.

In Philippians chapter 4 Paul says Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Our joy, prayers, and thankfulness should not fluctuate with our circumstances or feelings, but they do sometimes, right? Obeying these three commands…be joyful, pray continually, and give thanks…often goes against our natural inclinations. When we make a conscious decision to do what God says, however, we will begin to see people in a new perspective. When we do God’s will, we will find it easier to be joyful and thankful.

Job 26:7, He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He Suspends the earth over nothing. We had a great time with Science and the Bible last Saturday at our Pacesetters dinner. We are looking forward to our Christmas trip to Mt Hermon on Dec 13th.
