St. Mark

St. Mark "Saved by the Cross, Standing on the Word, Serving to the Glory of Christ." St. It is in this worship that we hear God speak to us through his Word.

Mark is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
--Our congregation is Christian, meaning we teach that Jesus Christ came as the Savior of the whole world, to rescue us from the dangers of hell and sin. This is God's free gift to us!
--Our congregation is Lutheran, which means we hold that the Bible is 100% from God, and is therefore 100% perfect, without adding anything to i

t, or subtracting anything from it.
--Sunday worship at St.Mark is a vital part of our faith-life. Though the Bible is thousands of years old, what God says in it applies to our daily lives even at this exact moment in time. In God's Word, we hear about our sinfulness, which separates us from God. At the same time, we hear the good news that Jesus Christ has removed the sin that once separated us from God. This good news unites us each week at worship to open our hearts to hear what God wants to teach us, and join in joyful praise and thanks to God for what he has done for us.

This Ascension Sunday we will remember our baptisms and pray Jesus keeps our confirmands close all the days of their lives.

Today, we remember Jesus' ascension, which took place 40 days after his resurrection on Easter. Let us pray:

Dearest Lord Jesus, when you ascended into heaven, angels announced that you will come back. In the middle of all the uncertainty of this world, remind me each day that you are still ruling over all things with power and authority and that nothing can separate me from your love. Sink these truths deep into my heart so that my doubts may be dispelled, my guilt removed, and my fears calmed. Amen.
