President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will deliver a keynote address at the Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

The event, titled “Faith, Freedom and the Common Good,” will explore the relationship between religious faith and American democracy. President Oaks will speak on faith, religious liberty and the United States Constitution on the eve of Constitution Day.

The free event begins at 6 p.m. EDT in the cathedral’s nave and will be available online via livestream.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has invited all individuals worldwide to participate in a unified fast on Sunday, July 5, 2026. The event coincides with the United States' 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and is dedicated to expressing gratitude for religious liberty and praying for its protection.

So pleased to announce the first Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansas will be open to the public soon!

So excited to announce that the Wichita Kansas Temple Open House and Dedication dates have been announced by the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A media day for the Wichita Kansas Temple will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026. Invited guests will tour the temple on September 22 and 23. Doors will open to the public from Thursday, September 24, through Saturday, October 10 (excluding Sundays and Saturday, October 3).

Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on Sunday, November 1, at 10 a.m. (rebroadcast at 2 p.m.). The dedicatory session will be broadcast to congregations in the Wichita Kansas Temple district.

We are happy that our Temple Open House is getting closer now that they have called a Temple President and Matron to serve in the Wichita Kansas Temple.

This April, the Salina Kansas Stake and JustServe are participating in a shopping bag drive to benefit Harvesters Food Bank in Lawrence, Kansas. They will be one of 250 recipients throughout the USA of a semi-truck food delivery donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in honor of America 250.

𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗱 have been busy making tote bags out of used t-shirts that will provide the means for recipients to carry home their groceries in a sustainable way.

𝗛𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻!

“Redemption through Jesus Christ is the central message of the prophets of all ages,” President Dallin H. Oaks says. “The books of the New Testament teach that our Savior’s suffering and His bloodshed atones for our sins and that His Resurrection assures that all who have ever lived on this earth will also be resurrected. Then we will all live forever with a glorified body of flesh and bones.”

The great gift of the Resurrection, President Oaks teaches, “is made possible by the great plan and the boundless love of God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.”
