The Vestry has scheduled the Annual Meeting for Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. We have scheduled it later this year in the hope that there will be more information to share about the calling of a new rector. At this time, we plan to have the meeting in person, with masks, in the undercroft of Ascension, with a live zoom option available. Any member who would like to add an item to the annual meeting agenda may contact any Vestry member and/or the office to request the item be included for discussion. We hope you all can join us.

A few reminders for the upcoming week:

Join us for our Community Healing Service in Salida on 12/1 and Crestone on 12/2. Both services are at 7:00 pm.

On Sunday, December 5th both Ascension and Little Shepherd will be celebrating Saint Nicholas Day with an "All You Can Carry" food drive. We will be collecting non-perishable food items at the 8:00 am and 10:00 am service in Salida and at 2:00 pm in Crestone. The Food Drive gifts will be presented at the altar, and St. Nicholas will be giving participants a sweet treat for the season. When the afternoon is over, all of the food collected will be given to the Crestone Food Bank for special needs during the holiday season.

New Covid Guidelines from the Bishop's office:

Due to the Delta variant and upswing of Covid cases here, three general guidelines are now in effect for in-person worship: maintain social distancing beyond your family group; sanitize hands regularly; wear masks throughout the service.

Choir members need to be vaccinated and maintain safety protocols. Worship leaders may unmask when reading or leading worship. Children’s ministry workers need to remain masked at all times, and follow the safety protocols. Coffee and fellowship time is welcome if held outdoors and participants are masked.

Please join us for the Community Meal being sponsored by Little Shepherd in Crestone (161 N Alder St.) this Saturday, August 14th, at 12 noon.

There is no charge, but a free will offering is gladly accepted. Chairs, tables, and tableware are provided or bring your own lawn chair for a seat in the shade.

As a reminder, we will not have service this Sunday, July 25th in Salida. Join us instead at Little Shepherd in the Hills in Crestone (161 N Alder St) for Holy Eucharist and picnic.

That evening, we will also be having our monthly Celtic Eucharist at 7:00 pm in St. Mary's Chapel in Salida.

We are happy to be hosting painter Nathan Potter for the annual Salida Art Walk. Come join us next weekend, June 25-27, and see this beautiful artwork! Check out our website, ascensionsalida.org, for details on time and location.
