Happy Father’s Day to the world’s BEST Father!

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:6 KJV

Not only can we call God Father, but we can call Him Abba, which means “Daddy.” He wants us to understand we can have that intimate of a relationship with Him because of Jesus!

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (KJV)

Jesus taught us to pray saying, “Our Father” – We have the awesome privilege of calling God our Father! WOW! Let’s gather in the morning and wish Him Happy Father’s Day!

God loves us! God wants us to love Him best of all! He didn’t leave us to figure things out for ourselves. He took the initiative to let us know of His great love for us and desire for us to love Him supremely. He even instituted a special day where we can gather with others who are like-minded to worship Him. I hope you will choose to attend church today!

1And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bo***ge.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:1-20 KVJ

This Psalm 46 reminds us that though the world around us may be a horrible mess – full of trouble and tumult – God is our refuge and strength! God is there – a very present help in trouble. He is with us! He has created a way for us to have a special, safe and personal relationship with Him! Jesus died and rose again – that we who believe can receive His peace!

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Psalm 46:1-11 KJV

Do you ever find yourself wondering what God wants you to be doing as a Christian? Here’s a wonderful list from 1 Thessalonians 515-24 KJV. I hope to see many of you in church this morning!

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

I naturally don’t like change. I am now in a season of change. During these days I do rest on my Lord, Jesus. The words to this old hymn have been ringing in my head today and I’ve found peace in this truth.

His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
all other ground is sinking sand!
Edward Mote 1834

On this Memorial Day weekend we remember our countrymen who died for our freedom. As a Christian, I also remember my Savior, who died for my freedom. Thank you, God!
