CHILI/SOUP AND DESSERT COOK OFF - Join us on February 15th at 6:00 p.m. for a chili/soup/dessert cook off. Sign up on the HUB to bring your best chili/soup/dessert to be judged. If you aren't bringing an entry, please bring a side, sandwich or dessert to share.
MARCH MISSIONS EMPHASIS MONTH - We will be celebrating missions during the month of March with a pancake and sausage breakfast on March 8th from 8:00 - 8:50. This will be by donation, with all donations going toward local and foreign missions. Our FBC Missions Committee will be doing the cooking!
We will be taking a missions offering during service that day also and then the evening of March 8th at 6:00 p.m., we will be hosting a "TASTE & SEE" to get a taste of missions and a taste of the nations.
We invite Sunday School classes, groups, or individuals to sponsor a table and provide food and/or drink from a country (The list of countries is on the HUB). If you are interested, the information will be given out to the Sunday Schools classes and there will be information and packets at the welcome desk and on the HUB. If you need more information, see Paula, David, or the office.
SPONSORING A GUATEMALA STUDENT - Our Guatemala Mission partners are looking for individuals, groups, classes to sponsor students whose families can't afford the cost of education. The cost would be $300 for a student to attend for the year and to learn English. You would have the option for monthly payments or a yearly payment. If you would like to sponsor a child for this year, please let the church office know.
HEART OF WORSHIP - On Wednesday night, February 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary we will have a worship night. This is led by our youth, youth adult team, and our worship Pastor. All youth are invited as well as anyone else who would like to come worship.
MISSION TRIPS 2026 -If you missed the Mission Trip Informational Meeting this past Tuesday and you would like to learn about our 2026 mission trips or you would like to sign up for a mission trip please reach out to David Hancock. The deadline to apply is our first Mission Team Meeting, February 19.
KIDZ CHOIR - Due to the snow this past Monday, Kidz Choir auditions will take place NEXT Monday, February 9th.
LOVE THY NEIGHBOR - Love Thy Neighbor is collecting applications from Homeowners for their 2026 project week. If you could use, or know of someone who could use some help with home exterior projects, please visit our First Baptist Salem page where we’ve posted a link to the online application. Please have applications submitted by mid-February.
Love Thy Neighbor volunteer forms are available now also. Pick one up in the church office.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY - Bible Study on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. February 21 - Coffee and Devotion 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. If you are interested in helping with any upcoming events, please contact Kelly Price at 316-644-7564.
STUDENT MINISTRY VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORMS - These forms are available at the welcome desk in the office. This is an interest form that we use to fill Student Ministry positions for the year. Please take a few minutes and fill one out and return to the church office or to Paula.
OFFERING ENVELOPES 2026 - We have offering envelopes available if you would like a box - they are at the Welcome Desk. There are also envelopes at the offering boxes or you can use online bill pay.
HOOPS NIGHTS - Join us in playing some friendly basketball games starting January 5th at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the gym. There will be games every Monday night through March 30th. We will split the gym men and women if there are enough to do so. Open to kids 12 and older. For more information, please see Mike Price.

OCC CRAFT NIGHT - February 19th at 5:30 p.m. crafting for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes will begin and continue every third Thursday of the month. There is something you can do and we need you. If you have a portable sewing machine to bring that would be helpful. If you would like to make a donation for supplies for the crafts we plan to make, you can drop it in one of the offering boxes or to the office and note it is for the OCC crafts.
BASIC'S - 2026 Basic's Event Calendars are available on the HUB. February 12 - Luncheon and Program at noon. Please sign up on the HUB if you plan to attend.
KIDZ CHOIR - Kidz Choir has resumed, there is still time for any 1st - 6th grade students to join in. Auditions for a part in the upcoming musical will be held this coming Monday. If any student wants to audition they should have received an audition sheet or they can pick one up from the office.
CAMP JOY - Dates for Camp JOY are June 22 - 26. Registration forms are now at the HUB and in the office. Registrations fill quickly! Youth Training dates will begin in April. Packets for the youth are now available and will be handed out tonight.
VBS - Dates for this years VBS is July 19 - 22. Registration forms are now available at the HUB, in the office, and online.
DAY CAMP - DCBA Day Camp dates are June 30 and July 1st - Registration forms are available at the HUB and in the office. Cost is $10 per day.
EASTER EGG HUNT - Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is for kids currently in 3rd grade and younger. It is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th at 11:00.
PASTOR SEARCH PRAYER - Pastor Gene has encouraged FBC to pray for our Pastor search committee at every evening meal. Please pray for #1 - the committee members as they seek and wait on the Lord in their search for the Pastor that He has selected. #2 - our future Pastor and His family as God prepares to move them to FBC.
