Formed by the Psalms
Summer 2026

This summer we once again get to enter into the poems, prayers, songs, and journals of the Scripture together. The Psalms not only teach us and show us that it is okay to feel, they also profoundly can form us. How so?

Join us as we walk through 14 different Psalms this summer that shape how we are formed as human beings. We’ve broken them up into 4 categories of formation:

Formed Through Worship
Psalms 8 → 15 → 29
Formed Through Shared Struggle
Psalms 73 → 90 → 95 → 102
Formed Through Community
Psalms 118 → 122 → 131 → 133
Formed Through Witness
Psalms 140 → 146 → 147

—————

Marriage is God’s greatest gift that He has given to the whole church. But it so marred by brokenness, frustration, confusion, and pain for so many in our current day.

Biblical, healthy marriages are not sustained by chemistry, compatibility, or circumstances—but by daily, practiced faithfulness shaped by the gospel.

So join us for these next 6 Sundays of Lent as we learn the beauty of biblical, Christ-centered marriage. This series will be practical and meaningful for married couples, single people, dating couples, divorcees, and widows.

Week 1 – Covenant
Text: Genesis 2:18–25; Malachi 2:14–16

Week 2 – Communication
Text: James 1:19–21; Proverbs 18:21; Ephesians 4:25–32

Week 3 – Forgiveness
Text: Genesis 3:6–13; Matthew 18:15–22

Week 4 – Rhythms
Text: Ecclesiastes 4:9–12; Colossians 3:12–17

Week 5 – Intimacy
Text: Proverbs 5:15–19; Song of Songs 2:15; 1 Corinthians 7:1–5

Week 6 – Hope
Text: Isaiah 61:10-62:5; 2 Corinthians 4:16–18; Revelation 21:1-4

Great picture of our church building from many years ago. Fun to see the changes and what's stayed the same! A beautiful reminder that the church of Jesus is fresh for every generation, not even just as a building, but as a community.

"to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations..." (Ephesians 3:21)

Wednesday night community group at the Lilleys is cancelled for this evening. There is no place for everyone to park due to the mounds and mounds of snow. ☺️ Enjoy a quiet, warm evening at home!

Due to the city-wide snow emergency parking ban happening in the morning on Sunday, Jan. 25, Sunday worship is cancelled this week.

However, Sunday is still a good day to praise the LORD because He is “worthy of all praise” (see Psalm 18:3 & Philippians 4:8)! So, take Sunday morning at home as an opportunity for you to:

Rest - Sleep in, take a breath, and stop the rush of life for a bit.

Quiet your soul — Get some time of solitude, sit in God’s presence, listen for His voice, & cast your burdens on Him.

Pour out your heart before God in prayer — Write out a prayer, think of people in your life that need prayer, & call out to Him with your needs.

Read Scripture — Pick a Psalm or a story about Jesus in the Gospels. Notice what the Spirit is saying to you.

Do something good! Then practice in real life what the Scriptures encourage you with! Maybe it’s helping your neighbor shovel snow, or calling a friend who needs encouragement, or something else. Be creative!

A short sermon video will be posted on YouTube - I’ll give you a short sermon on “Soul Friendship”, recounting the beautiful friendship of David and Jonathan from 1 Samuel.

Stay warm & have a restful Sabbath Sunday!

In Jesus,

Pastor Steven
