The funeral for Massachusetts State Trooper Kevin Trainor is being held in Salem today. Trainor, 30, was killed while responding to a 911 call for a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield on May 6. Our Salvation Army volunteers are honored to be serving breakfast, lunch, and beverages to Massachusetts State Police and others at today's funeral staging areas following the heartbreaking loss of one of their own.

During such a difficult time, we wanted to show our appreciation and support for the men and women who continue to serve our communities with strength, courage, and dedication. It is a privilege to provide a warm meal and stand beside them, even in a small way, as they mourn this devastating loss.

Please continue to keep the Massachusetts State Police, the fallen trooper’s family, friends, and fellow officers in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. 💙

is this Saturday! Salem area residents, please remember to leave your nonperishable donations out by your mailbox. We are so grateful to the dedicated mail carriers who continue to team up with our North Shore Salvation Army to feed our neighbors in need.

For 34 years and counting, has helped keep food banks stocked and families fed across the country.
📆 This Saturday, National Association of Letter Carriers members nationwide will be collecting nonperishable food donations right from your doorstep. Leave a bag out for your carrier and help make a difference in your community!

The 34th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is this Saturday, May 9th! To participate leave non perishable food outside your door on Saturday and your mail carrier will collect items to be delivered to food pantries in your community. We are one of the food pantries in Salem that benefit from the drive and we need some volunteers to assist us that day from 2-5p.m. to unload food, sort and stock items. Hope to see you then!
