Morning Star Kids

Morning Star Kids We are the kid's ministry of Morning Star Community Church, providing classes for kids from Babies through 5th Graders.

Morning Star Kids is open during the 9a and 11a services each Sunday. For up-to-date information, visit our Kids page here: https://www.mstar.church/mstarkids/

(Ages 6 weeks through 3 Years)
Our focus is on our littlest ones connecting the words "God" "Jesus" "Church" and "Bible" with a safe and loving environment. (Ages 4-6)
Our focus is on building a spiritual foundation for our preschoolers by

bringing Bible stories to life, singing and dancing, and having fun! Adventure Mountain (Grades 1-2-3)
Our focus is on teaching kids that the Bible is more than just a book of stories. We help kids transition out of storybook Bibles and into "grownup" Bibles. Kids learn to connect Bible teachings to the need for Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Bridge 45 (Grades 4-5)
Bridging the gap between children's ministries and student ministries, this program focuses on the specific needs of preteens. Kids learn to navigate the Bible, how to look up Scripture, how the lessons we learn apply to their lives, and learn to give their own story of what God has done in their own lives.

Mom: Wait… we still need to take back-to-school pictures! 😩

Dad: I know! When are we supposed to find time for that?

Mom: And where do we even take them? 😂

Dad: I was thinking somewhere cute outside?

Mom: But then we have to find a cute spot AND get all the kids ready AND actually get them to cooperate. 😅

Dad: …or we could just do it at church. 👀

Mom: Wait. THAT’S actually perfect.

Dad: Back-to-school photo opp
Dad: At church.
Dad: Available the next two weeks.

Mom: Say less. 😂

📚✏️ Back-to-school pictures are happening at church!
Grab the kids, get them looking sharp, and stop by the photo opp over the next two weeks to capture that first-day-of-school smile!

Because apparently getting the perfect picture doesn’t have to be complicated. 😉

Some pretty impressive achievements have been uncovered about our Kids Team…

Louie (Director) – After years of encouraging initiative and trying new things, Louie was recently nominated for the Bold Idea of the Year Award after suggesting a new kids activity during planning and saying, “I think this could work.” Surprisingly… it did. Volunteers still bring it up when new ideas come up.

There was also the famous morning when someone asked Louie if a new plan would be ready in time and he calmly replied, “Yes… after coffee.” Reports confirm the plan was finished shortly afterward.

Candace (Early Childhood) – Candace’s planning abilities have reached such a level that we’re pretty sure she operates about three Sundays ahead of the rest of us. She was recently “awarded” the Prepared for Everything Medal.

One of the most talked about moments in kids ministry history was when something unexpected happened during a toddler transition and Candace quietly said, “I planned for that.” We’re still not sure how.

Savanna (Early Elementary) – Savanna’s leadership style has officially been described as: high energy, strong commitment… and occasional spontaneous dance sessions that somehow work perfectly with the moment.

There’s a story volunteers still tell from a recent year when the kids needed a quick reset during a lesson and Savanna turned it into a short dance break that had the entire room smiling. Somehow it worked so well that kids were more focused afterward. We’re not saying it’s a strategy… but we’re also not saying it isn’t.
