It was the perfect day for our worship service and church picnic at the Salem Willows. the service was wonderful with music provided by Jen and Bob Strom. Our excellent chef cooked up burgers, veggie burger and hot dogs. The dishes brought to share were delicious. A great time was had by all.

CHURCH SUNDAY SERVICE AND PICNIC
Sunday, July 12th,2026
10:00 A.M.
Look for the Tabernacle Banner!


Weather permitting, we will have 10 am worship at the Willows followed by fellowship and BBQ lunch. Be sure to bring a chair to enjoy worship, Music will be provided by by Bob & Jen Strom.

We will provide BBQ standards (burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers).
We are asking volunteers to bring beverages, side dishes and desserts.

If weather does NOT permit we will have worship in the Tabernacle Sanctuary. We’ll get the word out in advance if that is the case.
We’ve been lucky in the past, pray for good weather again this year!

Pride Interfaith Service

Sunday, June 28, at 2:30 PM, the North Shore clergy will gather at Tabernacle Church for a powerful interfaith Pride Worship and Celebration in the Sanctuary. ALL WELCOME!

Pride Parade

JUNE 27

Team Tabernacle will once again march in the North Shore Pride Parade in Salem! Please come be part of this great event and help to represent Tabernacle. We will meet at Shetland Park, 27 Congress Street at 11am and proceed at noon with the parade to Salem Common.

Due to freezing temperatures on January 30th, Mental Makeover needed to cancel their Polar Plunge fundraiser.
Now it is back on for a “warmer date” of March 21st at the boat launch on Winter Island with check-in at 12 noon (if registered for previous date no additional fee is needed).
The Plunge is scheduled for 1:30.
Come take a dip or watch your Tabernacle friends and family step in some mighty cold water to support a much-needed cause.

Bonhoeffer Lenten Study Group
First Meeting Monday, February 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at the church…Please use Federal Street Entrance



Tabernacle Church, UCC, will offer a six-part series on the life, work, theology, and impact of the martyred German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. We’ll use his final writings, Letters and Papers from Prison, as an introduction to one of the 20th Century’s most important theologians. We’ll have a few copies of the book available, but’s also available online.

The group will meet on Monday, Feb. 23 at 3 PM at the church and then each successive Monday in Lent. Books and a syllabus will be available on Sunday. This will be an in-person meeting, but we’ll try to work out an alternative online.
