HYGIENE KITS FOR TORNADO AND FLOOD VICTIMS

Hygiene Kit
Value: $12.00 per kit
Hygiene Kit Materials
• One hand towel (15 x 25 –17 x 27 inches) o No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels
• One washcloth o No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels
• One comb o Must be sturdy with at least 4-7 inches of teeth.
o No pocket combs or picks o Rattail and combs without handles are acceptable but must have at least 4-7 inches of teeth.
• One toenail or fingernail clipper o No emery boards or metal nail files
• Bath-size soap (3 oz. bar or larger) o No Ivory or Jergen’s soap
o Do not remove from packaging.
• One adult toothbrush o Do not remove from packaging.
o Personal advertising not acceptable
• 10 adhesive bandages (¾ by 3 inches) o Common household bandages acceptable
• One one-gallon size re-sealable bag
*Do not add toothpaste when assembling kits

Assembly Instructions
• Lay hand towel flat on a table.
• Lay the washcloth in the center of the hand towel.
• Place all remaining items on top of the washcloth (except the plastic bag).
• Fold the sides of the hand towel to cover the items.
• Grasp the bundle tightly and roll over the remainder of the towel.
• Place the tightly rolled bundle in the plastic bag, remove air, and seal.
Important Notes
• All items must be new.
• Do not wash any of the items as they will no longer be considered new.
• Do not include any personal notes, money, or additional materials in the kits.
• Contents of kits or the containers of kits should not be imprinted with cartoon characters,
advertisements, religious, patriotic, military or camouflage symbols.
Packing Instructions
• Please send a single check to the Sager Brown Depot or the affiliate warehouse that will
receive your donation of hygiene kits.
• The check amount should cover the total number of kits times $2.00 for the cost of toothpaste and shipping.
• Do not place check inside the box of hygiene kits. Please mail under a separate cover. On the memo line, indicate that the funds are a donation to cover costs associated with relief supply kits.

FLOOD BUCKETS FOR INDIANA TORNADO AND FLOOD VICTIMS
Midwest Mission is supplying 100s of UMCOR Cleaning Kits and Hygiene Kits to eastern Indiana to be distributed to flood victims.

Jennifer Demaree, Conference Disaster Response Coordinator, is putting out a call for our churches to rebuild Midwest Mission's supply by making UMCOR Cleaning Kits and Hygiene Kits.

Once they are made, they can be brought to Midwest Mission in Pawnee, Illinois, or one of our Indiana Midwest Mission Permanent Collection Sites: The closest permanent collection Site for our area is: Sellersburg UMC — 226 New Albany St, Sellersburg, IN 47172

If you would like to provide some items rather than a complete Kit please contact the Canton UMC or Salem UMC (Indiana) church pastor using each church page and we will do our best to collect the items and get them to the proper distribution location.
CLEANING KITS: Value: $75.00 per kit
Cleaning Kit Materials
• One five-gallon round bucket with lid (14.35” h x 12.19” w x 12.19” d) o No screw lids. o May be used, but must be free from all residual product. oAdvertisement on the outside acceptable.
• One 32–64 oz. bottle liquid laundry detergent
• One 16–40 oz. bottle liquid concentrate household cleaner
o No spray cleaners
• One 16–34 oz. bottle liquid dish soap
• One 4–8 oz. pump spray air freshener
• One 6–14 oz. pump spray insect repellant (pack of 10–20 wipes also acceptable) o Pump spray bottles must have protective covers.
• One scrub brush o With or without handle
• 18 re-usable cleaning wipes o No terrycloth, microfiber, or paper towels o Remove from packaging.
• Five scouring pads o No stainless steel or pads with soap in them o Remove from packaging.
• 36–50 clothespins
• One 50–100 ft. clothesline (cotton or plastic line)
• 24 roll of heavy-duty trash bags (33–45-gallon sizes) o Remove from packaging.
• Five N95 particulate respirator dust masks (1–3 mm thickness) o No surgical masks
• Two pairs kitchen gloves o Durable for multiple uses o Remove from packaging.
• One pair work gloves o Cotton with leather palm or all
leather

Assembly Directions
• Place all liquid items on the bottom of the bucket.
• Place remaining items in the bucket fitting them around and between the liquid items.
• Scouring pads and trash bags can be separated to fit all items in the bucket.
• Clothespins may also be placed in a small re-sealable bag.
• Secure the lid on the filled bucket.
Important Notes
• All items must be new except for the bucket and lid.
• All cleaning agents must be in liquid form. No powders are accepted.
• If items have been omitted, label bucket. Please indicate which items are missing.
• Sponges have been removed from the list of supplies due to the challenge of locating the non-cellulose sponges that prevent mildew. Non-cellulose sponges will be added to each bucket upon arrival at the affiliate warehouse.
• Do not include any personal notes, money, or additional materials in the kits.
• Contents of kits or the containers of kits should not be imprinted with cartoon characters, advertisements, religious, patriotic, military or camouflage symbols.
Instructions for Packing and Shipping Kits
• Packed buckets cannot exceed 70 pounds.
• Please send a single check to the Sager Brown Depot or the affiliate warehouse that will receive your donation of cleaning kits.
• The check amount should cover the total number of kits times $3.00 for the cost of sponges and shipping.
• Do not place check inside the box of cleaning kits. Please mail under a separate cover. On the memo line, indicate that the funds are a donation to cover costs associated with relief supply kits.
