Corban continues to build its connections in the community!

WELCOME NEW MEMBER | Corban University
The Stayton Sublimity Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Corban University as one of our newest Chamber members!

Located in Salem, Corban University has been educating and preparing students to make a difference in their careers, communities, and the world since 1935. Today, Corban offers more than 50 undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs, preparing students for careers in business, education, healthcare, science, ministry, counseling, public service, and many other fields.
But what makes us especially excited to welcome Corban is their commitment to community.

Service is woven into the Corban experience. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to take what they learn beyond the classroom, build relationships, serve others, and make a meaningful difference in the communities around them.

That commitment continues to grow. Corban is actively investing in community engagement and looking for new opportunities to build partnerships with businesses and organizations throughout our region.

Those connections matter. Our local businesses need talented future employees, emerging leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals—and our students benefit when education and the business community work together.

Corban University's mission is “to educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.” That mission is reflected not only in academics, but in an emphasis on character, leadership, stewardship, and service.

Ray and Opal Lutke came to WBC in 1991. Ray served as Director and Chairman of the music department during his time here.

A memorial service honoring the lives and ministry of Ray & Opal Lutke will be held on Sunday, August 30 at 2:30 PM at Dayspring Fellowship in Keizer, Oregon.

Opal was welcomed into Heaven on March 14, 2026 and Ray followed soon after on July 24, 2026. Though we grieve their loss, we rejoice that they are now in the presence of Jesus.
