Temple Beth Sholom

Temple Beth Sholom Your Jewish Home in Salem. Our congregation includes over 160 membership units (families, seniors, couples and singles).

At Temple Beth Sholom, we have Jewish members from all corners of the United States and around the globe, from many different backgrounds. As a Reconstructionist synagogue, our membership is diverse in practice, and varied in observance. Our smaller size means that everyone is important to our Temple and each voice is valued. We invite ALL of our members to take on leadership roles in all aspects

of our community. Our goal is to serve Jews, and their families, of the diverse surrounding communities by offering a Jewish community that strives to meet the needs of all members whether it be for social, religious or life-cycle events.

– We are thrilled to celebrate Certificate in Jewish Leadership student Amber Giddings on her appointment as the first-ever Executive Director of Temple Beth Sholom in Salem, Oregon.

Amber has dedicated over 22 years of service to the Temple Beth Sholom community, beginning as a part-time office manager and steadily growing the role through her commitment and leadership. Her recent milestone was supported by her professional development through Spertus Institute, where she is completing a Certificate in Jewish Leadership.

Reflecting on her experience, Amber shares: “This course, and especially the in-person seminar, has been invaluable—it was so much more than I’d hoped for! I’ve learned life-changing skills and effective ways to lead in my role here at TBS and am thrilled to be a part of the Spertus family.”

We are proud to support professionals like Amber who are strengthening Jewish life in communities across the country.

Join us in wishing a Mazel Tov to Amber on this well-deserved honor!

I was notified this morning that a teenager (about 15-16) was knocking on doors in south Salem asking for Walk a Thon sponsors for Temple Beth Sholom. We are not doing a Walk a Thon, this young man is not affiliated with us, so please be aware of this.
