I used to think being humble meant taking every criticism to heart…especially when it came from someone confident enough to tell me what I was doing wrong.

But humility doesn’t mean assuming everyone else sees me clearly.🚫

It means being willing to let God show me the truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable.🙏

People can speak from wisdom, but they can also speak from personal preference, misunderstanding, insecurity, or an incomplete view of the situation.

I want to remain open enough to receive what is true…but grounded enough in God that people-pleasing doesn’t make me easily controlled.

👉 I can listen without immediately agreeing.
👉 I can take responsibility for what is mine without carrying what isn’t.
👉 I can make necessary changes without becoming someone else’s version of who I should be.

I don’t want pride to make me reject correction God may be using…or insecurity to make me carry an opinion He never asked me to hold!

Being teachable doesn’t mean giving every voice authority.

It means keeping my heart open and bringing what I hear before the One who knows me completely. 🙏🤎✝️
