Bonnie E. St. Clair George, age 83, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at her home on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Bonnie was born on May 23, 1943, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Matthew St. Clair and Ethel “Dolly” (Wieter) St. Clair. On May 29, 1970, she married Ronald George in Salem, and together they shared more than 56 years of marriage.

Bonnie devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a daycare provider and was a loving caregiver to many children throughout the years. Above all, Bonnie was deeply devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and treasured the memories they made together.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald George of Salem; her children, Doug George of Coulterville, Illinois, and Beverlee Hiestand and husband Christopher of Kinmundy; her grandchildren, Matthew George and wife Ashton of Carlyle, Blake George and wife Brianna of Pinckneyville, Brock George of Sesser, and Savanna Hiestand of Kinmundy; her great-grandchildren, Jude, Grace, and Revere; and her sister, Beverley Dalton and husband Ron of Princeton, Texas.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Ethel “Dolly” St. Clair; her brother, Terry St. Clair; and her sister, Dianne Hall.

Funeral services for Bonnie E. George will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem, with Claude Howell officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be received at the funeral home. Online condolences and memories can be left at
