We are thrilled to announce some fantastic new additions to the Family Search Center, located at 695 S 300 W, Salem, designed to enhance your family history journey. Here’s what we’ve added to help you preserve and share precious memories:
VHS Digitizer: Now you can transform your old VHS tapes into digital files on a USB thumb drive, making it easy to share with loved ones for years to come.

High-Speed Scanner: Quickly scan large stacks of photos and documents in seconds, saving you time and effort.

Negatives & Slides Scanner: Preserve your vintage negatives and slides with our specialized scanner, turning them into digital formats for easy access and sharing.

FSC consultant spotlight:
Steven Clyde was born and raised in Springville. Steven earned a degree in Civil Engineering from BYU. He served a mission in British Columbia, and not long after returning, he married his childhood sweetheart. Together, they raised six children and now feel incredibly blessed to have 22 grandchildren. He spent his career working in construction and retired in 2014.
Since 2019, Steven has been focused on Finnish family research, inspired by a great-grandfather whose line had seen very little work. After taking a DNA test and discovering over 1500 matches, he felt a strong pull to dig deeper, and he hasn’t stopped since. Finnish records can be surprisingly rich and accessible, but they do have a learning curve. Steven knows how to navigate them and is happy to help others do the same.
He currently serves in the Payson Temple, at the FamilySearch Center, and as the 10th Ward Temple and Family History Leader. If you're feeling drawn to your own family’s story, or aren’t sure where to begin, he’s a great person to talk to. He is available Tuesdays from 10:00am to 12:30pm at the Salem Utah FamilySearch Center.

Ciao! Do you have Italian roots? Have you hit a wall in your family history research, or not sure where to start? Come visit with Larry Residori on Monday afternoons (12:30-3:00).
Larry grew up in a small Illinois town south of Chicago and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He served as a US Army Officer from 1962 to 1982, with assignments in Italy, Vietnam, and Korea. Inspired by his Italian roots, he began researching Italian records in 1982 and has since reviewed about 10,000 documents and submitted thousands of Italian names to FamilySearch. He also built Italian family trees for over 30 classmates and friends. Though he can read Italian records, he does not speak the language. He has visited his ancestors' Italian hometowns twice and now spends much of his retirement focused on Italian genealogy.
