Messengers Church

Messengers Church The main goal of the church is to prepare believers to function as mature sons of God.

To foster this ongoing spiritual growth the church offers weekly Bible studies, intercession, training seminars, activations and webinars. The church nurtures an atmosphere of encouragement, acceptance and freedom. Each individual is encouraged to offer their gifts and abilities knowing that “every joint supplies.” As a church they are dedicated to worship and intercession. Their greatest desire is to continually welcome the presence of God in the church and each life.

Grace dies when it becomes us versus them. (Phillip Yancey)

What would it mean, I ask myself, if I too came to the place where I saw my primary identity in life as “the one Jesus loves”?

How differently would I view myself at the end of a day?

Sociologists have a theory of the looking-glass self: you become what the most important person in your life (wife, father, boss, etc.) thinks you are.

How would my life change if I truly believed the Bible’s astounding words about God’s love for me, if I looked in the mirror and saw what God sees? (Phillip Yancey)

The Welcoming Prayer

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today, because I know it's for my healing.
I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.
I let go of my desire for power and control.
I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval, and pleasure.
I let go of my desire for survival and security.
I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.
I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within. Amen.

Love

Charity (Love) suffers long (Patience), and is kind; charity (Love) envies not(is not jealous); charity vaunts (boasts) not itself, is not puffed up (Prideful),
Doth not behave itself unseemly(behave badly), seeks not her own
(puts other first), is not easily provoked (stirred up) thinks no evil (harm);
Rejoices not in iniquity (doing wrong), but rejoices in the truth (doing right);
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures (Patience) all things.
Charity (Love) never fails…
1 Corinthians 13:4–8
