Christmas light.

Christmas time is a beautiful time of year as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. We see beautiful
decorations being displayed in our homes and on our homes, in and on places of business, around city
squares and along main streets. Most appropriately among those decorations are all the beautiful lights
which exemplify the coming of The Light of The World, Jesus Christ.

However, there are those who despise the Christ in Christmas and seek to remove Him from it. I am
reminded of John 3:16-20 which teaches us that Christ is the gift of salvation for the entire world.
Yet, many reject and despise Him. Why? Because they love sin more.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son
of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh
to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” - John 3:16-20

Perhaps a simple but profound summation of this can best be understood by a quote from Plato who said:
"We can easily forgive the child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy is the adult who is afraid of
the light." - Plato
