Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, is the first day of the Season of Lent. Lent is a time for intentional reflection and spiritual renewal. Consider how Jesus’ final moments reveal His love, mission and calling for your life. Use this time to draw closer to Him and align your heart with His purposes. We would like to invite you to join us in the Salem United Methodist Church Sanctuary for a time of prayer and meditation. We will receive the Imposition of Ashes (an ashen cross placed on the forehead or back of the hand).
Families or individuals are welcome to come between 11:00am and 6:00pm. Stay as long as you care to for a time of reading scripture, meditations and prayer on your own. Pastor Valarie Foughty-Killion will be available for conversation and prayer. All are welcome.

Salem and Canton United Methodist Youth would like to invite you to a Spaghetti Dinner held on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Salem Fellowship Hall. We hope that you will come and share in this special time. There will be a free will donation received for the ongoing activities of our Youth. Hope to see you there!

Salem United Methodist Men's group delivers a check to the Food Bank from the annual Concert presented by Lick Creek Band on December 4. Thanks to the Food Bank for meeting the needs of our community and the Lick Creek Band's willingness and heart to serve their communities of Salem and Paoli. Finally, thank you to those of the United Methodist men who created the opportunity for us to enjoy the music of the Band. Have a Merry Christmas.

We are so pleased to announce that The Lick Creek Band will be in concert again this year in the sanctuary at Salem United Methodist Church located at 202 E Market St, Salem, Indiana. A free will donation will be received that will help meet the needs of our local food pantry and the community it serves. Please come and enjoy the unique sound of the Lick Creek Band, through a variety of music, and the joy of the Season.

Salem United Methodist Church will be dedicating their Samaritan's Purse Shoeboxes this Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 10:30am. One of the responsibilities for filling a shoebox is to pray for each child that will receive a shoebox. Won't you join us as we pray for each child that will receive this precious gift?
