Tonight, we continued our study of Habakkuk led by Pastor David Cox. The following is a synopsis of tonight's study prepared by Pastor David:

"As we concluded our study of Habakkuk tonight we learned a very important lesson: God can be trusted! In spite of the horrific issues of this world, the Lord is watching over His children. In spite of the tough issues of life, in Habakkuk 3:18 we read; “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” My friends, let’s look above the struggles and heartache of this life in anticipation of the joy of the next life. Trust Jesus as your Savior now to be with Him forever."

Good evening church family and friends,

Tonight, we read and discussed Psalm 138. This thanksgiving psalm of David praises God for answered prayer (vv. 1-3), for his plan for the world (vv. 4-6), and for protecting him and God's purposes for him. Please take a few minutes to read this short psalm and note that God has provided us an excellent example for praising and thanking Him.

Good evening church family and friends,

Tonight, we continued our study of the book of Habakkuk led by Pastor David Cox. The following is a synopsis of our study provided by David:

"Our study of Habakkuk finds the prophet in chapter 2, verse 1 watching God, looking to God and listening to God. With the prophecy of judgement against Israel for their disobedience, God tempers that prophecy with a promised judgement against the Babylonians who inflicted such pain against Israel. Habakkuk 2:4 is the key verse to the book stating: “the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.” This verse affected Paul the apostle, the writer of Hebrews as well as Martin Luther the reformer."

Good evening church family and friends,

Tonight, we started a study of the book of Habakkuk led by Pastor David Cox. The following is a synopsis of our study provided by David:

"In our new study of the book of Habakkuk we found an Old Testament book dealing with contemporary questions. In our present day dealings with tough issues we often ask God; “why?” We look for purpose and meaning in the struggles of life. The prophet Habakkuk was asking God why His chosen nation was suffering. God did not reply to his "why?” question. Instead God told the prophet "what" was going to happen. That "what” was to be judgement against a rebellious and sinful Israel. Habakkuk starts this book sobbing to God but he will end this book by singing praises to God. That is the result of trusting in God and not overwhelmed by our circumstances."

Good evening church family and friends,

Tonight, we continued our study of the book of Nahum. The following is a synopsis of our study led by Pastor David Cox:
"Our study of the book of Nahum took us to chapters 2 and 3 where we saw the wrath of God against the Assyrians who were the enemies of Israel. The message from many pulpits today is simply “God is a God of love.” While I believe He is a God of love, seen in the salvation He provides, I believe also He is a God who demonstrates His wrath. His wrath is especially exhibited against sin. This wrath against sin demanded a perfect sacrifice and it was provided in His Son Jesus Christ. We must see our sin as an offence against God and experience His loving salvation by faith."
