We are excited about how the building has progressed. Friday we began pouring the sidewalks, patio, and entryway.

Last week was tile week at the new building. All of the tile floors are down and waiting for grout. We are waiting for doors to install the trim prior to putting the last coat of paint on. The wood is ordered for the ceilings in the main room, and carpet has arrived for installation as soon as painting is completed. Our director is anticipating a completion date sometime in October.

My name is James Rispoli. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York. Alcohol became a part of my life when I was ten years old and I started using drugs at twelve. Before coming to Fair Haven I had reached the end of my rope, I did not want to live anymore. At Fair Haven Home for Men I found victory through Christ!! Now I serve other as the cook for the home. My life has been redeemed!!

Today we mourn the loss of Jimmy Rispoli. Bro. Jimmy enrolled in the first program six years ago, and it was a blessing to be able to watch his life completely change through the power of the gospel. He completed the first and second programs and stayed on to work in the Home. He had the heart of a servant, his days were spent managing Fair Haven’s Kitchen and serving as the staff custodian at Life Baptist Church. Jimmy was a New Yorker of Italian heritage. He was born in Brooklyn, New York in September 11, 1957. He loved to cook Italian food, and often would sing traditional Italian songs while cooking in the kitchen. Listening to Southern Gospel cd’s was his favourite pastime and you could always tell when Jimmy was in the kitchen because when you walked in the building you could hear his music playing. Jimmy loved Jesus, and he enjoyed telling anyone he met about how his life had been transformed by the gospel. He never let a service go by that he did not stand up and testify of God’s grace and mercy in his life. Jimmy was a blessing and encouragement to the men in the home, the director, and the members of the Life Baptist Church. A memorial service to celebrate Jimmy’s home going will be held at Life Baptist Church on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2pm.

God has blessed abundantly!! The drywall is complete and cabinets are installed. The next step is to get trim down and paint.
