Take a moment to get to know two of the amazing people who make our church family so special, Cecile & Ganten Kirby!

How has St. Simons UMC impacted your life or faith?
- Ganten and his family grew up coming to SSUMC so we have a long history with this humble church. This is where our family began! We were married here in 2012, Kevin even played at our ceremony. All three of our children were baptized here. We’re fortunate they have been nurtured by this church family.

What’s your favorite worship song right now?
-  We love “I’m So Blessed” that the Children’s   Choir sang. But “How Great Thou Art” on that organ, sung by the SSUMC Choir will renew your faith and fill you with the Spirit! 

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
- Highly recommend joining the Christmas Choir. It truly grounds you in the reason for the season. If you come by the house, don’t be surprised by the beehive in the front yard!

Take a moment to get to know one of the amazing people who make our church family so special, Jeff Zoul!

What’s one way you’ve seen God’s faithfulness recently?
Quite simply: answered prayers. God has truly been faithful in my life. Even during hard times or when I didn’t know what to do, He was always there for me.

What’s a favorite memory you’ve had here?
Leading the annual classes on Wednesday evenings of The Chosen TV series based on the life of Jesus and His disciples. I really enjoy seeing so many members and snowbirds attend each year to grow closer to Jesus and discuss what we see each week.

What’s your favorite way to spend quiet time with God?
I really enjoy running along the beach each week, finishing my run at the pier and then walking on the pier and praying to God, thanking him for so many blessings and asking him to help me be better. After church each Sunday, I always walk to the beach access stairway and enjoy quiet prayer time with God. It is where I proposed to my wife and it is a special place for me to again thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon me and us.
💙 We are so thankful for people like this who make SSUMC what it is, a true family.
