Take a moment to get to know one of the amazing people who make our church family special, Cate Brown!
What’s something God is teaching you in this season?
-I think God is really teaching me how to be the village for those around me. This church is always eager to lend a hand to those in need, and that has encouraged us to volunteer in new places and join new Bible study groups we might have debated going to in the past. We have been able to meet neighbors and reconnect with old friends.
What made you decide SSUMC was the place for you?
-We knew the moment we walked in that SSUMC was our home. We saw so many familiar faces, heard beautiful music, and felt welcomed with open arms. Now, our favorite part of Sunday morning is walking into the sanctuary and saying hello to each individual we come in contact with. Some I have known my whole life, some I have recently met, but each holds a place in my heart and their love carries me through a hectic week until we return back each Sunday.
What is one fact about you that most people in the church may not know?
-Something people may not know is: I studied music in college! I’ve always loved art, music, and theatre. I have two middle school kids who are equally involved with band, chorus, and musical theatre - following in my footsteps!
