As the summer breeze flowed outside, the Holy Spirit flowed inside as nearly 400 South Georgia United Methodists gathered in Macon, Ga. for the 2026 South Georgia Annual Conference session.

Held May 31 through June 2 at Vineville United Methodist Church, clergy and lay members from across South Georgia gathered under the theme “Unto the Least of These” to worship, conference in the Wesleyan tradition, celebrate, and discern.

Camp Connect is officially underway! We're kicking off the summer with high school camp, and our Leadership Team is ready to make it an unforgettable week. They've been busy preparing, and today the adventure begins!

Join us in praying for our staff and every camper who walks through our doors this summer.

It's going to be the best summer ever!

Seventy years after women were granted full clergy rights in The United Methodist Church, we continue to bear witness to the gifts and leadership of women called by God.

On Monday evening, Bishop Robin Dease ordained Debora Richards and Lauren West as ordained elders in full connection. She commissioned Alexandria Tipton as a provisional member preparing for ordained ministry as a deacon.

Participating in the service were Rev. Stephanie Smith, chair of the conference Order of Elders and Rev. Grace Guyton, chair of the conference Order of Deacons. LG Smith, Claire Mikell, and Addie Smith served alongside them as acolytes.

We celebrate these women and the generations of faithful leaders whose courage helped make this moment possible!

(And thank you, Bishop Frank Beard, for being a part of our service! We're so glad to have you in Georgia!)
