Holy One, let your Spirit, our Advocate, guide us—preserving us from judgment, protecting us from sin, and leading us into righteousness, so that we may testify to the good news: fullness of life and joy for all; through Jesus Christ our Savior and in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

This past Sunday, we rededicated our Pandemic Tree of Remembrance, giving thanks for this living witness that has endured hurricanes just as our community has. As we gathered, we remembered with gratitude and tenderness all those we lost during the COVID pandemic-lives cherished, stories unfinished, and loved ones who grieve still.
This tree stands as a sign of our commitment to hold their memory before God and one another.

FAST Nehemiah Action Meeting

As many of you know Maximo Presbyterian has been a member of Faith and Action Strength Together for five years. FAST is a social justice ministry involving about 45 congregations throughout Pinellas County. The Nehemiah Action meeting was held at the First Baptist Church, Gandy on April 16th with approximately 2,000 people in attendance.

The culmination of a year’s worth of committee work was explained, particularly the new focus committee regarding Youth and Child concerns. The other established ongoing committees are Affordable Housing and Water Quality. Those committee updates were given as well.

The following Maximo members are involved in FAST; Karen and Frank Denniston, Ed Calcaterra, Rina Diaz, Carolyn Ferguson, Fred and Mary Shambach, Suzan Hamilton, Pastor Bob Hill and the FAST leader Kathy Calcaterra. Two additional friends attended with these Maximo members; Myriam Larkin and Carolyn Wilson.

If anyone would like more information about how to get involved in FAST please reach out to Kathy at church or by email, [email protected].

“And what does the Lord require? But to do Justice, to love Mercy and to walk humbly with your God”. (Micah 6:8)

In His Service,

Kathy Calcaterra

Another great turnout today for our third Sunday of the month Let Us Break Bread Together Fellowship Luncheon. 30 people gathered after our Worship Service at a local restaurant to share food, conversation, laughter, and encouragement. There is something truly special about breaking bread together — it reminds us that we are not just individuals, but a church community bound together in faith and friendship. On Easter Sunday, our Maximo family gathered for two of our most cherished traditions-our Easter Sunrise Service outside the Memorial Garden and our Easter Cantata Service in the Sanctuary.
Both services were filled with gratitude, music, and the joy of resurrection Hope. From the quiet beauty of sunrise worship to the powerful storytelling of the Easter story presented by our choir. It was a meaningful morning that reminded us why these traditions are so special to our congregation.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this Easter Sunday a celebration of faith, community and renewal. We are grateful for each of you!
