HAPPY EASTER!

Reflection:

This verse arises from a curious question posed by Peter regarding the fate of the apostle John. Peter inquires about John's future, specifically wondering if he will remain alive until Jesus' return.

Jesus' response is both instructive and challenging:

Focus on Your Own Calling: Jesus shifts the focus away from speculation about others and back onto Peter's own calling. He emphasizes that Peter's primary concern should be to follow Him faithfully.

God's Sovereignty: This verse underscores God's sovereignty over all things, including the timing and circumstances of our lives. It reminds us that we are not in control and that worrying about the future of others is ultimately futile.

The Importance of Obedience: Jesus' command to "follow Me!" is a constant reminder for all believers. Our primary duty is to remain obedient to Christ and to live out our faith in accordance with His will.

Application:

Avoid Speculation: Are you prone to worrying about the future, particularly the future of others? This verse encourages us to resist the temptation to speculate and instead focus on our own walk with Christ.

Embrace Your Calling: What is your unique calling from God? How can you more faithfully follow Him in your daily life?

Trust in God's Sovereignty: Acknowledge that God is in control and that His plans are ultimately best. Learn to trust in His timing and His wisdom.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to resist the temptation to worry about the future, especially the future of others. Help me to focus on following You faithfully and to embrace the unique calling You have placed on my life. Grant me the grace to trust in Your sovereignty and to find peace in Your will. Amen.

Additional Thoughts:

This verse serves as a powerful antidote to anxiety and fear. It reminds us that our ultimate security lies in our relationship with Christ.
