Mark 6:45–52

Sometimes the very storm we’re begging God to remove is the place where He most clearly reveals His glory.

The disciples thought they were drowning. Exhausted. Straining. Out of options. But Jesus had not lost sight of them for a single moment.

The storm was never meant to destroy them.
It was meant to show them who was walking on the waves.

This week, we were reminded:
➡️ God’s appointments sometimes look like disasters
➡️ Jesus is sovereign even when life feels chaotic
➡️ The storm may actually be carrying you toward God’s purpose
➡️ Your comfort is not the ultimate goal — God’s glory and your sanctification are

So what do we do in the storm?

⚓ DROP THE O.A.R.S.
O — Observe His Glory
A — Acknowledge the “I AM”
R — Release Control
S — Submit to the Sovereign Destination

When your strength runs out, Jesus is still faithful.
When your understanding fails, His purpose remains.

Pain, hardship, and suffering are not always signs that God is distant. Sometimes, they are evidence that He is refining, shaping, and strengthening us. Just as fire purifies gold, God uses trials to form perseverance, character, and hope in His people.

This week, we were reminded:
➡️ Suffering can be God’s refining work
➡️ Suffering can deepen our joy in Christ
➡️ Suffering teaches us to trust God’s faithful care

No matter what you’re walking through today, Jesus has not abandoned you. He is present, faithful, and working even in the middle of the struggle.

Their courage and sacrifice protect the freedoms we cherish, and we hold their memory in the highest regard. We join together in deep gratitude for their ultimate sacrifice and lift up their families in prayer for continued peace and comfort. May we never take their devotion for granted.
