This Labor Day, you may be surrounded by cookouts, gatherings, and end-of-summer celebrations—but grief doesn’t take a holiday.
If someone you love is missing today, give yourself permission to experience the day as it comes. You don’t have to force yourself to celebrate or pretend you’re doing better than you are.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
May today bring moments of rest, comfort, and the reminder that God is near in your grief.

Grief is everywhere, but it often goes unseen. National Grief Awareness Day, August 30, is an opportunity to better understand grief—and to remember the people around us who may still be carrying the pain of loss long after others have moved on.
Grief doesn’t follow a predictable timeline. It looks different for every person, and even from one day to the next. A grieving friend may need someone to listen, remember an important date, say their loved one’s name, or simply continue showing up.
And if you’re the one grieving, you don’t have to rush your healing or carry your grief alone. God sees your sorrow and draws near to you in it.
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18
This National Grief Awareness Day, learn more about understanding your own grief and supporting others who are grieving.

“I need relief.”
Grief can feel unbearably heavy—like you’re carrying something no one else can see. The exhaustion, the ache, the loneliness … it’s real. But in the middle of that weight, Jesus offers something your heart desperately needs: rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
You don’t have to be strong today. You can come to Him just as you are.
If your heart is longing for relief, What God Says About Your Grief offers gentle, biblical comfort for the weight you’re carrying: https://heal.gs/4bXcSSj
