Gustavus Cru

Helping to build spiritual movements everywhere so everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus Christ Peter area.

Gustavus CRU is part of a larger, group of movements on campuses in the Mankato-St. We are a Christ-centered Student organization that exists to teach students how to grow in their faith, share what they believe and become people who will follow Christ for their lifetime.

That first year can be challenging but here’s a few tips to help you start off well! Don’t miss the third one! 👇👇👇

1. Go to the orientation week events! Meet tons of people these first weeks so that you can find a community at college where you can grow and belong.

2. Don’t forget—you’re more than a student. Your academics will matter, but if you make college just about the classes, you might be setting yourself up for failure. You were MADE for more! Be sure you are valuing your spiritual, relational and physical health too!

3. Join student clubs (like Cru!!). Students involved in student clubs at college are MORE LIKELY TO GRADUATE! That’s because student groups and campus ministries in particular provide support for you and help you to grow during this season of transition.

God is on the move!

We had successful winter conference where over 900 college students from across the country had the opportunity to come together in faith and deepen their relationships with God. Our students were able to worship, listen to various sessions and seminars, and outreach to the surrounding community.

Our President, Alejandra Hirdman reflects on the conference saying:

“I think our weekend was spent in a great faith community of other college students around the US. It’s so great to experience that. We had small seminars, really great worship, speakers like Jenny Allen, Eric Rivera, and Candace Stewart… and late nights spent playing card games spikeball and having snacks. It was really life-changing and we got to see how God is moving in the different branches of Cru all over the world. We got to explore opportunities to serve; like going on mission and internships.”

Cru did some awesome stuff this weekend! 🙌

Saturday we spent the afternoon with our other campus ministries in Chanhassen, and packed over 39,000 meals with !! 🥳
The night before, some of our team went to a worship concert where we got to meet Circuit Rider Music themself!

What an epic two nights of time with the Lord, and volunteering to help those in need. ♥️

We had such a blast at camp Koronis again this year. What a wonderful weekend filled with worship, talks from our staff, time by the lake, camp fire and smores, activities and prayer!
