This past weekend, our church had the privilege of serving at Grace Home as part of a mission trip focused on helping and encouraging the women there. Our team came together to rebuild an old floating dock and steps platform, but the project became so much more than just construction. It was an opportunity to serve, build relationships, and show the love of Christ through our actions.
In this video, the women are taking part in a powerful moment of symbolism. As they throw the old piece of wood into the water, it represents letting go of the past, the struggles, mistakes, and things that no longer define who they are. Then, as the women behind them present them with new wood, it represents a new beginning, a new direction, and the hope of moving forward into the life God has planned for them.
Grace Home is a place where women are given encouragement, support, and the tools to rebuild their lives. Just like we rebuilt a dock, these women are rebuilding their futures one step at a time. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey and to witness a reminder that through faith, grace, and a willing heart, new beginnings are always possible.
