ROOTED IN FAITH. GROWING IN GRACE. | SNL REVIVAL 2026.
What a wonderful two nights of worship, fellowship and revival as Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church prepares to celebrate 141 years of faith, service and community!
On Thursday, August 13, Rev. Charlie M. Lane and the Great Swans Creek Missionary Baptist Church family joined us for an incredible evening of worship. They came alongside us with their choir and ushers, and Rev. Lane delivered a powerful Word, “Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace.”
On Friday, August 14, Rev. Amanda Pone and the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church family continued the celebration, bringing their choir and ushers and blessing us through fellowship and service. Rev. Pone reminded us through her message, “You Are Built for This,” that we are rooted, built up and established in our faith.
One of the most beautiful parts of these two evenings was witnessing churches serving churches. Visiting ushers stepped in so our ushers could sit and receive. Visiting choirs ministered so our choir members could worship from the pews. Pastors, members and friends came together simply to worship God and support one another.
Both Rev. Lane and Rev. Pone prayed over Pastor Lampkins and Lady Lampkins, the Second New Light church family, our vision and the future of this ministry. We are grateful for every prayer spoken over this house.
And among those worshipping with us both nights was our beloved 90 year-old Deaconess Betty Thompson. She wanted to be in the house for revival.
Her presence reminds us what 141 years truly represents—generations of faithful men and women who prayed, worshipped, served, sacrificed and kept the Light burning for those who would come after them.
Several of our longtime members also reflected on how wonderful it was to see so many people gathered together again for revival. The sanctuary was filled with worship, fellowship, familiar faces and new ones—a beautiful way to prepare our hearts for Homecoming.
We thank Swans Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, every visitor, every member and everyone who served during these two days.
Now we are ready to celebrate our history, faith and legacy of Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church—141 years and still shining!
