Janine Ricker and Kim Williams were blessed to be able to travel to Kitui, Kenya for the installation of their new Bishop Rt. Rev. John Mwandi on August 8th, 2026. It was a whirlwind week of activities arranged by by Felistus Mutui. It was a joy filled celebration. Friendships were strengthened and new friendships forged. The partnership between the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and Catholic Diocese of Kitui is strong and fruitful. We now prepare foe delegates from St. Paul and Minneapolis to head to Kitui for our partnership exchange in January 2027. Please pray for all involved. The Catholic Diocese of Kitui invites you to the Consecration and Installation of Monsignor John Mbua Mwandi as the Fifth Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.

The celebration will take place on Saturday, 8ᵗʰ August 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Charles Lwanga Senior School, Kitui. The Holy Mass will be presided over by Most Rev. Philip Anyolo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi.

As we prepare for this celebration, let us continue to pray for Monsignor John Mwandi and for the success of the Consecration and Installation ceremony.
