We must sadly inform our friends and followers that Bethel is closing its doors. We have been worshiping in our building since 1931. Our last worship service will be November 24.

We are thankful for the ministry of Bethel over the years, and praise God for His faithfulness and provision. God used Bethel to bring His Word and Sacrament to this neighborhood for generations, and we trust that many seeds were sown and continue to bear fruit. This is a difficult season for our congregation, but we trust the Lord's leading and His goodness.

Our property will come under new ownership in December. LINC is a ministry that supports grassroots church planters, Christian entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders working in diverse urban communities. Through their work, the Gospel will continue to be proclaimed on the corner of Wheelock and Maywood in Como Park. Learn more about LINC here: https://www.linc.org/about

Bethel is doing something bold, something good this Christmas Eve morning.

And we invite you to be a part of it.

We’ve purchased coats, hats, gloves, small toys & treats for 119 kids awaiting permanent adoption.

On Sunday, we’re going to put each child’s gift together as part of our worship (we call these worship/service projects “Workship”)

Our worship starts at 9:30, with this service project finishing our morning.

Join us for Christmas Eve at Bethel Lutheran.

We will rest in God’s “peace on earth” as we hear again the Christmas story, sing long-beloved hymns & punctuate our praise with “Silent Night” by candlelight.

We start our Christmas worship of the Savior at 5:00pm.

Thank you to Bethel members who put up decorations on Saturday. We enjoyed the festive Sanctuary on the first Sunday in Advent.

Thank you also to those who helped with the Sunday Workship on Dec. 3, a service project to bless New Life Family Services. Each Sunday in Advent we will have a service project after worship - a "Workship" - to share the love of Jesus in tangible ways with people in our community. We invite you to join us!
