Thank you Karen Mack for serving as our archivist at St. Stan's!

HONORING MOTHERS AND MOTHER MARY IN THE MONTH OF MAY
We thank Karen Mack for volunteering to serve as St. Stan’s Archivist. Karen pulled some lovely history for us in honor of the month of May, and we plan to continue to share some of the rich history of our St. Stanislaus Parish in future bulletins.

From the Archives . . . In honor of Mother’s Day, and the Month of May we remember the devoted women of our church that were part of the Mothers’ Club at St. Stans. Organized in April 1928 by Mrs. Martin Liska and Sister Aemiliana, the Club was involved in many aspects of the church. They raised money through bake sales, tea parties, fundraisers, luncheons, and direct donations from members. The money was used to help with expenses related to the school such as blackboards, desks, and books. They also helped students in need with tuition and uniforms. The club also contributed to the priests and sisters at the convent with items that included newspaper subscriptions, a radio, and Frigidaire. Community outreach and support was also a central part of their mission, donating to such causes as the Cancer Home, books for poor children, and the Red Cross. Another important mission for the Club was supporting the church. The Club donated $200.00 towards the building fund for the new church after the fire in 1934. They also noted $150.00 for a beautiful stained glass window which you can find on the left side of the church.
