Or Emet Minnesota Congregation For Humanistic Judaism

Or Emet Minnesota Congregation For Humanistic Judaism Or Emet, ("light of truth" in Hebrew), is grounded in Jewish culture and offers an involved and vibrant community. We encourage visitors!

About us:

Or Emet, the Minnesota Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, is centered around humanism, a philosophy that holds that people make the human world the way it is independent of supernatural authority, and which embraces reason and science as the paths to knowledge. We welcome interfaith and multicultural families and individuals. Our members include secular Jews, cultural Jews, unaffiliat

ed Jews, atheists, agnostics, and wondering members of many different religions and backgrounds. Our Jewish Cultural Sunday School provides students ages 3 through Bat/Bar Mitzvah (B Mitzvah) an opportunity to be part of a Jewish community while learning about Jewish culture, values and history as documented by scholarship, rather than as told in religious texts. Interested in attending a service, school program or special event? Please check Or Emet’s calendar for upcoming events. Most programs are free and open to the public, and the first session of the Jewish Cultural Sunday School is also complimentary. Or Emet is an affiliate of the Society for Humanistic Judaism (SHJ), an international movement based in Detroit, Michigan. SHJ has affiliates in North and South America, Israel, Europe and Australia. We also belong to Big Tent Judaism, an organization working for a broad and inclusive form of cultural Judaism.
