Andrew and Chrissy Rasmussen received news that the church they had been attending in Oakdale, MN would soon be closing after almost 5 years. It was called Ignite Church and it lived up to its name, because although they mourned the loss, they immediately felt God calling them to start their own ministry! Together they accepted the call and Earth Stranger Refuge was born! They hope to collaborate
in sharing God's glory through stories. Along with other friends who were 'ignited', they will share their testimonies with their West 7th neighborhood and fellow community of artists in the Schmidt Artist Lofts, where they live in Saint Paul. They believe God is going to use their ministry to tell people's stories, and create transformation in the peoples hearts and lives who hear them. Andrew is a painter and says, "The only thing needed to start and finish a great painting is not a perfect plan, but a single brush stroke." They would describe themselves as "completely unqualified" to take this new role on, but are choosing to exercise their faith that God is creating something beautiful and will equip them along the way, "one brush stroke at a time".
