What does it mean to be white? The purpose of this event, Deconstructing Whitness, is to bring in a scholar on subjects revolving around white culture and anti-racist activism to Bethel. By deconstructing/examining white culture, it brings whiteness out of the backdrop of societal powers.

Our feature Speaker is Jennifer Harvey!

Jennifer Harvey is a professor of religion at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Broadly speaking, she focuses on how religion and ethics intersect with race, gender, activism, politics, spirituality, justice, and any other aspect of social life in which religiosity decides to "show up."
