Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis

Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis Representing our excellent system of 89 preschool-12 schools across the greater metro area.

The Office for the Mission of Catholic Education strengthens local schools’ Catholic mission: the Catholic formation of the whole student, rooted in the dignity of the human person. The work of the Office for the Mission of Catholic Education helps Catholic schools in this archdiocese continue to evangelize their students with the Good News of Jesus Christ. This includes helping form the intellect

through academic excellence, forming the will through Catholic morality, and forming the heart through prayer and service. The office provides formation, training and resources to support the formation of educators and other Catholic school leaders.

Dr. Todd Flanders’ insight for those considering Catholic school leadership is as genuine as his humble approach in leading Providence Academy for the past two decades. He has relied on the skills and expertise gained from previous work, as well as God’s providence, to help make the preschool-12 school what it is today. 💡About 47% of eighth graders in our Catholic elementary schools continue on to a Catholic high school. We need to increase that.

We’re grateful to the Catholic High School Admissions Task Force for the conversations and collaboration around creating a common pathway through our system from preschool through 12th grade.

Have you read Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical? In Magnifica Humanitas, he emphasizes the danger of relying too heavily on automated systems for learning, noting that “the speed and ease with which answers or summaries can be obtained risk extinguishing the desire to ask questions.” Consequently, he urges society to “protect our young people from the promise of the perfect machine, from that subtle temptation which renders human thought seemingly superfluous precisely when it is most needed.”

"In an era when truth is often distorted in order to serve particular interests and communication strategies, the field of education assumes decisive importance," Pope Leo wrote.
