DID YOU HEAR ABOUT OUR FLYING PASTOR?
On Thursday, August 27, a team of parishioners and others did some repair work near the top of St. Francis's steeple. The frame around the round vent near the top of the steeple on the west side had been loose and damaged for some time, and it was repaired. They also replaced some missing corbels beneath the overhang near the domed top. During the process, Father Matt went up to the dome to check things out.

Many thanks to Randy and Gary Beachner for arranging a large crane. Casey Snell and Christoper Harmon did the high work from the crane basket. A ground crew of fabricators included some already mentioned, plus Chandler Bradshaw, Steve, and Tim Harmon. Apologies if we have missed anyone.

2026-2027 PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION KICK-OFF
Our 2026-'27 PSR year began after the 6:30 Mass on Wednesday, August 26th. During his Mass homily, Father Matt Davied discussed a traveling statue program that will start soon. After Mass, he blessed the PSR faculty; we took a group photo, and everyone went to the garden for ice Cream.

PSR classes will begin September 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the PSR building and the rectory basement.

Donald P. Davied, 93. A lifelong resident of the Greenbush, St. Paul area, passed away on Tuesday, August 11th, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village. He is the grandfather of our St. Francis pastor, Father Matt Davied. Donald was a member of the SPHS class of 1950.

Vigil services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, at St. Francis Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 21, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, with his grandson, Fr. Matthew Davied, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Greenbush.

IT ALL WORKED OUT QUITE WELL!
Adoration Under the Stars organizers were a little concerned Friday morning. It was cloudy, with intermittent showers, and everything was damp. When the clouds broke, it became hot and humid quickly.

But His plan worked out well—in fact, it worked BEAUTIFULLY!

As the planned 7:45 start approached, the church lawn had dried, and it cooled a bit. As sunset approached, He provided us with a slight breeze. The remaining haze cleared, and we saw a few stars. Altogether, we had a great evening for the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the wonderful spiritual music of Ember Road, and the use of the torch-lit confession stations on the lawn. Apparently, our Good Lord even helped position the altar spotlight, so it cast a shadow of the altar, monstrance, and candles on the front of the church.

It worked out just lovely!

HARVEST HOUSE ROAD TRIP - THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th.
Father Josh and the parish of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac have invited members of St. Francis and St. Ambrose parishes to join them for Harvest House on Thursday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. We will meet at the new Frontenac Library*, followed by a tour of Sacred Heart Church.
