How does your spiritual journey express through your body? What wisdom does your body hold about God that might help your heart and mind?

Join us for Groundings Tuesday April 21 as Sarah Cledwyn invites us to delve into experience in our bodies so that we have a clearer understanding of how and why we search for God.

We will explore the embodiment of spiritual seeking and the deep dwelling of experiencing God alive, now, moving and expressing. When we use these tools for ourselves, we can better hold space and explore spiritual seeking with our directees. Ultimately it gives us a framework to increase awareness of what is still looking and what is already found.

When: Tuesday, April 21 from 12:30-2:30 (central time)
Location: Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, Ignatius Hall, 1079 Summit Ave. St. Paul, MN or online via zoom.

As spiritual directors, our capacity to hear into speech our directees' deepest voice rests upon upon our willingness to listen to our own.

Join us online next Monday, March 23, 6:30-8:30 pm (Central Time) as Diane Millis, PhD invites us to explore a framework for listening with the ear of our hearts and to practice heeding the whispers in our hearts at this moment in time.

Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s poem, Into the Interior, will offer encouragement for our exploration.

Within us all is the capacity to love deeply. Love is what binds us together, moves us closer to the restoration and renewal of things. Love is the source of our authentic power.

Join us this next Tuesday, March 17, as author and spiritual director, Felicia Murrell, invites us to explore how the practice of beholding Love returns us to ourselves and more fully to a love ethos that can be embodied as a way of being in the world.

The core of Ignatian spirituality is simple: it’s about finding God in all things. But the language that’s used to describe Ignatian practices can be unfamiliar. Some of the terms even sound a bit medieval, reflecting the context of St. Ignatius’s life in 16th-century Spain.

You don’t need to have the “right” vocabulary to practice Ignatian spirituality. Each of us brings our own unique spiritual language that we use to think about and engage with God. Yet, if you’re exploring the Ignatian Exercises or other Ignatian resources, you may find yourself a bit lost around the meanings of some common terms.

Read on to explore some of those Ignatian terminologies and discover how these concepts and phrases fit your own experience of Ignatian prayer practices.

Discerning a calling is rarely a sudden or solitary moment. It more often unfolds gradually through prayer, community, restlessness, and the quiet persistence of holy questions that refuse to go away: What is being asked of me? What gifts am I being called to offer? What must I release so I can be open to this call?

For those who feel drawn toward spiritual direction, this discernment can be especially tender, touching on your own attentiveness to the movement of the Spirit in both yourself and others.

If you are noticing a nudge to explore spiritual direction training, we would love to connect with you.

Join us this Saturday, Feb. 14, for our online Sacred Circle.

The Sacred Circle is an inclusive space for belonging. It is a space to be heard, held, and to just be in community.

We will gather online by Zoom from 9am - 10am (CT).

This contemplative gathering uses a “third thing”—a reading, poem, or prompt for reflection. Participants have the opportunity to listen deeply and to be present to one another's stories.

Join us at Groundings next Tuesday, Feb. 17, as Rev. T. Michael Rock invites us to explore how we can use Spiritual Direction as one tool for processing societal and personal traumatic events. Think of this as using a spiritual lens to look at the events that are happening personally and communally.

In the sacred relationship of Spiritual Direction, people often find a way to make meaning of a traumatic experience or experiences that often don’t make much sense.

Join us in person from 12:30 - 2:30 pm (central time)
Saint Thomas More: 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN
or online by zoom.
Please register at https://www.sacredgroundspirit.org/events/2602-spiritual-direction-for-times-of-trauma

A donation of $20 is suggested to help cover costs.

Join us online Monday January 26 at 6:30-8:30 pm (central time) as we explore the Power of Creativity in Spiritual Direction.

Our culture surrounds us with external images telling us who we are, what we should buy, how we should think. But what about the images inside our souls? Ann and Barry Ulanov state in their book “Religion and the Unconscious “ that image comes before word. How do we get in touch with these images? And how do these interior images inform our spiritual journeys, our very lives from the inside out?

Join Peggy Thompson as she invites us to explore creativity. We will use color, symbol, metaphor, rhyming, and repetition. We will spend time with our spirituality using meditation, silence, and synchronicity in order to touch viriditus– the green sap of the Holy Spirit as Hildegarde of Bingen would say. Let’s experience how creativity empowers our spiritual journeys and the journeys of those we companion.
