St. Paul's Monastery

St. Paul's Monastery St. Benedict. We are a community of Benedictine Sisters, Associates, Oblates, family, and friends. Our life consists of prayer and service.

Paul’s Monastery is a community of Benedictine Sisters and Associates, plus hundreds of Oblates, volunteers, and friends from the community dedicated to living out the Gospel as expressed in the Rule of St. We belong to a Federation of Benedictine Communities located throughout the world. We work in schools, parishes, nursing homes and our Benedictine Retreat Center which offers retreats and spiri

tual direction. Maple Tree Monastery Childcare Center is located on our campus. We support the spiritual growth of people of all faith traditions and help them find God in their daily life.

Introducing two-hour gatherings, where you are invited to walk the Labyrinth at your own pace, pause for reflection at the center, and return along the same path. An introduction to the labyrinth and gentle guidance will be offered enfolding the following themes before the walk: Welcoming All That Is, Holding On and Letting Go, and Harvesting.

Join us for a walk together which invites reflection, mindfulness, and renewal.

We give thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for the faithful hearts of our Oblates who made their Final Oblation to St. Paul’s Monastery on the Solemnity of Pentecost.

May the fire of the Holy Spirit continue to kindle wisdom, courage, and peace in their lives, and may their witness inspire all of us to listen more deeply for God’s voice and respond with generous hearts.

Coming soon! The first session of the Discovering Benedictine Values series, Stability.

Stability invites us to stay grounded through change, uncertainty, and daily routine. It teaches faithfulness to place, people, and prayer, trusting that transformation often happens not in escape, but in perseverance.

This is an online series occurring on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, starting May 28 and running through August 20. You can sign up for just one session, all of them, or pick and choose those of interest to you.

The Rule of St. Benedict is as relevant as ever in our current climate of political upheaval and cultural uncertainty. All sessions cover values which invite rootedness, attentiveness, and relational depth.

Come explore a tradition that continues to offer wisdom for uncertain times.

With gratitude for their Benedictine spirit of hospitality and service, we thank Joan Norgon, Gary Summerville, and Mike Rowe for joining the Hill-Murray School Pioneer volunteers for the annual Pioneer Day of Service at St. Paul's Monastery.

Volunteers spent the morning weeding, mulching, completing drainage work, and making repairs throughout the monastery grounds.

Special thanks to Tod Twist, Toby Twist, and Brent Johnson for their leadership, and to President Melissa Dan and Sister Linda for stopping by personally to thank volunteers for their service and stewardship.

It was a beautiful morning helping to keep the Monastery campus welcoming to all who seeking time for renewal and prayer.

A lovely spring day is the perfect time for a peaceful and prayerful walk within the Monastery grounds, unless there are disruptions (Can you spot them?). Tomorrow starting at 7:00am until 12:30pm we will be eliminating them. Would you like to help us? Tomorrow is the Pioneer Day of Service, you can join a crew of helpers from Hill-Murray School on a variety of tasks needed to give you and visitors like you the full Monastery contemplative experience. What a lovely day for the children of Maple Tree Child Care Center! They were out and about on the Monastery grounds to celebrate bike day. All children from toddlers to preschool were using the Monastery paths with all types of "vehicles" and orange cones here and there to tell them when to stop. It was a fun site.

Born in a time of political collapse and cultural uncertainty, the Rule offered a path of stability, balance, and community that continues to speak powerfully into our own age of disruption and transition.

In other words, the Rule of St. Benedict is as relevant as ever in our current climate of political upheaval and cultural uncertainty.

This series will explore some of the foundational Benedictine commitments—stability, deep listening, humility, hospitality, community, stewardship, justice, respect for persons and others.

Join us for one session or several sessions or all of them!
