This is the fourth year of this program, made possible by funding from The Planting Hope Campaign. Our interns may be leading VBS at a local congregation, preparing and serving meals, supporting dementia programs, or meeting with job seekers. The interns gather weekly to reflect on their experiences, build community, and share a meal. Pastor Bristol Reading again serves as the internship coordinator.

Thank you to everyone who has made this opportunity possible...from the site supervisors who oversee their work, to the pastors in their congregations who encouraged them to apply, to the donors who gave to The Planting Hope Campaign over these past years!

We are blessed to have creative and hardworking church communicators in the Saint Paul and Minneapolis Area Synods. Around 40 of them gathered at Mt Olivet Retreat Center today to learn some best practices around internal communications. Thank you to Kelly Champagne from Engagement Experts for sharing her knowledge with us! The day included time for rest and reflection and connecting with one another for ideas and support.

As the Rev. Patricia Lull prepared for her final Bishop's Report at our recent Synod Assembly, she asked our communications director to put together a video for it in response to a recent comment about how serious she always seems. Bishop Lull didn't see the resulting video herself prior to her report at assembly. It's safe to say she - and the assembly - got a big kick out of it! We hope you do, too!

We take time each year at our Synod Assembly to recognize milestone anniversaries of rostered ministers and congregations, honor those who have retired during the past year, remember rostered ministers who have passed away and welcome those who are new to the synod. We invite you to watch this year's observances video!

A whopping 511 people joined us for Synod Assembly this year, which included 465 voting members, 24 advisors and 22 visitors! They came from 102 of our 106 congregations. We appreciated their enthusiastic participation, their flexibility with schedule changes and their patience in the dinner line. It was good to be church together with you throughout a packed agenda of reports, elections, worship and so much more. Watch for more assembly photos and coverage soon!
