Here is the reality: The “swamp” existed in Solomon’s era, and even he, with all his wisdom, couldn’t drain it. Today’s sermon outlines Solomon’s observations on imbalance in justice and at work and offers a solution that only comes from God.

Some say Ecclesiastes is depressing; that life teaches us we are going nowhere fast. While that can seem true, Ecclesiastes is actually uplifting, as we are reminded of what is important and taught to focus on what will help us become more mature
followers of Jesus Christ.

We love our moms! America is projected to spend $38 billion in 2026 on Mother’s Day! That’s a lot of love through gift-giving. As I sometimes do on Mother’s Day, I’m not going to focus this sermon on being the “World’s Best Mom.” Instead, today we’re going to consider the life of Priscilla, who, for all we know, may not have been a mom at all. Yet as we’ll see, her life is worth imitating by all women, whether married with kids, married without kids, or single.
