Catholic Coalition for Church Reform/Council of the Baptized

Catholic Coalition for Church Reform/Council of the Baptized CCCR and CoB envision a church fully alive, locally and universally, that radiates Jesus' core teach

CCCR and the Council of the Baptized represent a community of Catholics who are moved to question some policies and practices of their church in the light of the Gospel teaching of freedom and love. CCCR invites the community to action and the Council of the Baptized provides grounded positions on issues calling for action.

This post....this prayer from the Spirit of St. Stephen's Catholic Community reads to me to be an invitation to take the road less traveled by many who call themselves Catholic. I mean that with the highest respect, admiration, and without negative judgment. Each person will read and hear the words and spirit of the prayer offered here differently based on their own life experiences. I look forward to the opportunity to listen to these words--their spiritual essence during this most unusual time we are living through presently. [Patty Thorsen]

The season of Lent is a time for introspection, one that is quite different from any we have traveled through before. One of my favorite poems is the Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. It was among the poems given to me in a poetry book my parents gave me when I was in high school. I still have that book. Thinking about the opportunity--the challenge this Lenten season draws me back to reflect on that poem. I share this poem with you as an opportunity to reflect upon in the context of your life presently. [Patty Thorsen]

For those of you who ask, "how does CCCR promoted lay involvement in our Archdiocese?" I invite you to read about "lay advisory board" in the Catholic Spirit. This is the brainchild of individuals within CCCR. Share the word with your Facebook friends, and with Catholics you know. This can be--will be, with your support, an exciting step forward in the growth of our Archdiocese. [Patty Thorsen]
